  1. A wee one from today, stem about 30inch diameter Pulled with a truck 90 degrees to the lean
  2. A mix of deadwooding and partial reduction on some trees that have been dying back. There's 3 fells to do as well when the ground dries out a bit
  3. Working on the oak avenue at Kingston lacy house for the national trust today, nice spot with some cool trees

  7. I guess it does put some people off but ive never been short of work so never noticed to much of a difference.
  8. I went VAT registered 3 years ago, best thing I ever did and cant belive how worried I was about it at the time. My accountant deals with everything and i just make sure i transfer the VAT into a separate account as it comes in so at the end of the quarter ive got a lump put aside to pay it. Its also a good way of saving because the ammount you pay is always less than youve got in the account. I think I claimed 14k back when I first registered as well

  13. I remember a few years back we were getting about 70% of quotes. As the business has changed and we do more commercial work i reckon we get a better percentage of quote uptake but look at less jobs, although they are usually bigger jobs which is better Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  20. generally at the end of the day its only cutting bits off trees and trying not to break to much, not that skilled really
  21. I would say that as long as the rpa of the edge trees protected the rpa's of the trees behind then you could probably suffice with a condition survey of the trees within falling distance of the development Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  24. we removed some cones from a pine over a roof before, we stopped at about 370... it didnt really make a difference
