  1. great video but criminal that it wasnt milled
  2. Definitely a case of getting the balance right, I usually try to take a day or a couple of half days during the week to look at jobs or fit them in if they are on my way home. Very rarely look at stuff on a weekend anymore, that was probably one of the best changes I made
  3. Dehydrators are pretty cheap, about £50 Usually I make it out of venison, sometimes mutton and rarely beef, I tend to use what ever I've got in abundance at the time so if I've knocked a deer over or one of our sheep it makes sense to use that instead of buying beef Tend to make a marinade of soy, sweet chilli sauce, garlic, ginger(ground) couple of bay leaves and whole grain mustard which works pretty well Cured duck breasts are pretty easy, 24 hours in salt then hang for two weeks
  4. @johnshutlertreeservices
  5. Dealt with some failed trees at a flight pond Working smarter not harder
  6. hey ben filled in the survey meant to do it at the show but kinda got caught up in the bar
  7. hey ed Try giving oli at westbeams a call 07540777294
  8. A few pictures mostly of machinery from the last week
  9. the AA are based around that area so it makes sense for it to be near them
  10. Before and after from a Oak rj this morning First picture was taken after the first bit of top was done Tricky climb with rubbish anchor points for the most part
  11. Bearings on the bottom roller of the Schleising 440zx that goes behind our mog. Replacement bearings from a helpful local dealer 15mins away. Had to cut the old bearing (what was left of it) off the shaft with the Dremel to save dropping the whole roller out, that said, Schleising Chippers have got to be the easiest to work on from my experience
  12. In my opinion and going by some of the above posts its very easy to over complicate things. A practical approach and some thought about rooting conditions and the surrounding area can achive alot more than a calculated RPA however you work it out. kinda off topic but certainly relevant
  13. Myself and Al did the garden side yesterday morning and three of us did the roadside stuff this morning
  14. The report said to use a cherry picker but it wouldn't have been practical or cost effective, for a start I reckon she was at least 35m tall with a spread of easily that if not more This was the finished picture from the garden side
  15. ascending up the roadside side of the tree this morning
  16. she was topped about 20 years ago so it promoted some growth. apart from the limb it dropped and the fungi at the base its in fine condition. we removed about 1.8m on this side of the upper crown today and will do the roadside stuff tomorrow
  17. Sorry should of mentioned that it shat a big limb (3ft diameter)off over the highway about 18months ago and there's a bit of gano and beefsteak on the butt
  18. started reducing this beauty today, estimated at 650 years old the stem diameter must be pushing 8ft. The spec (by Neville Faye is for about 15% off the main scaffolds. Pictures don't really do it justice but it's big when you get up on the crown
  19. Because big men behind keyboards rarely have the balls to back up what there saying face to face. If someone was throwing accusations round like that in my local about me there would quickly be a problem
  20. It can also have a lot to do with what you do out of work
  21. very strange Ive always had excelent service from them
