  1. Cheers Tom. Turns out they are based just up the road from me, I'll give them a call later
  2. Having resisted investing and moving forward with my tree surveying methods for a few years it may finally be time to get a device and some software to help with some larger surveys I have coming up Basic and easy to use are good things in my books and having just bought another tractor something reasonably priced would be nice Any suggestions would be great Thanks
  3. They are awesome Chippers Proper simple and not stupidly priced
  4. Boxer were good machines let down by crap service. The other problem is that the bearings, track rollers and motors aren't really up to the job of moving big lumps of timber all the time and the cost of replacing them is daft If I ever bought a loader again it would be wheeled
  5. we have the board of shame breakages or cockups go on the board of shame, whoever has the most points at the end of the month buys breakfast for everyone else we dont have to many serious issues but my guys are generally sensible and conscientious
  6. im going to be investing in another tractor to carry out a variety of more ag related activities as well as some haulage, running a mulcher and possibly a larger PTO biomass chipper. im looking at tractors around the 180hp mark. the tractor will also be used for cutting hedges with a flail, how many people if at all offer this service and what kinda hourly rate is charged? do you find it complements or adds something to your buisiness. im based in a fairly rural area with lots of agricultural hedging and few contractors carrying out this work many thanks
  7. I believe the one in your video is about 4.5k plus vat The tiger cut is around 2.3k for the 180 and 3.8 for the 200 series We've got 10 days rhody, holly and laurel clearance to do after Christmas and can't help thinking something like this might make it easier
  8. ive been looking at the tiger cut 200 or the 180 which isnt on the website Tree Shears - Exc@v8 - TOTAL PLANT SOLUTIONS LTD
  9. has anybody used one on a sub 2.8 tonne machine? waste of time or handy on the right job?
  10. does anybody have any experience with the M model valtra, namely the m120 I understand they were a fairly limited run as they brought out the n series what is the 4 cylinder engine like? would it be much cop moving trailers about? I belive that they are quite good with a hedgecutter on as well any info is much apprecieated
  11. If it's coming down il collect the timber for firewood
  12. 60 a month. Saves me heaps of time in the office and each time they issue an update (monthly I think) it just seems to get better. Latest development is adding customers and quote appointments from the mobile app which is bloody handy!! Think they are working on being able to fill in risk assessments on a mobile device at the moment without having to print out copies
  13. my mog smokes alot less than it did with its old engine. the ammount of oil it used to use is scarey
  14. I got rid of my first one, this is my second. you can fit saws, climbing kits, rigging kit and other bits in the chipper with blower and rakes in the back of the mog but 95% of the time we take a second vehicle to kit in, rake up and any logs. I reckon the mog will hold 6 cube of chip and im generally less than 3miles from one of my tip sites so tipping off isnt to much bother of if its a big job il chuck the grain trailer behind the tractor to chip into
  15. Some clearance with the mog and tractor
  16. a cut down m12 bolt with nylock nut and two washers
  17. ive just put a full set on my valmet, very pleased with them
  18. Just picked up a grs stock for my 243 Pretty happy with it
