  1. The best lumberjack athletes in the country will take part in the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® British Championship in August as they smash through six logs in a matter of seconds using a combination of axes, saws and sheer strength. Returning to BBC Countryfile Live at Blenheim Palace on Saturday 3rd August for the fourth consecutive year, the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® British Championship will see top logger sports athletes battle against each other in six challenging disciplines; Stock Saw, Underhand Chop, Single Buck, Standing Block Chop, Springboard and Hot Saw. To take home the title of the best TIMBERSPORTS® athlete in the UK, competitors are awarded maximum points for the fastest time and must display power, precision and endurance in all six disciplines. Competitors will include four-time British champion Elgan Pugh, who is aiming to win his fifth consecutive STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® British Championship. Visitors to the STIHL stand are invited to watch the action unfold, and then try out TIMBERSPORTS® for themselves with the brand-new Virtual Reality Experience, which gives people the chance to virtually test their skills on the TIMBERSPORTS® Stock Saw discipline. A competition will be running throughout the event and the person with the fastest time will take home their very own STIHL cordless chainsaw and Personal Protective Equipment, worth over £550 RRP in total. Spike Milton, STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Global Sports Director and former British Champion, said: “The British TIMBERSPORTS® Championship is one of the most exciting live sports you can watch this summer. All of the athletes will be fiercely competitive, so it’s sure to be edge-of-your-seat action from start to finish, with the competitors pushed to their limits during each challenging discipline. They have been training all year for this and I wish them all the best of luck – may the best man win!” The 2019 Rookie Championship will also take place at BBC Countryfile Live on Sunday 4th August, which is for athletes who are under 25. The top eight rookies from around the country will compete against each other across four of the six TIMBERSPORTS® disciplines, accumulating points in each round based on their placing in each discipline. The athlete with the most points at the end of the fourth round will be crowned the 2019 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® British Rookie Champion. 3. Bet the undergrounds a bit pungent today
  4. Bit of an old thread Kirsten, you might be better off starting a new one
  5. Sorry to hear that Matt
  6. My laces often come undone when climbing. Its surprisingly awkward to get into a comfortable position to do them up again.
  7. These exclusive to you for now Justin?
  8. If they are made of similar crap that vegan burgers are, i'm not surprised
  9. He could turn out to be the best prime minister in history and the left will still find something to moan about. Be interesting to see what he does thats for sure. Personally i'd like to hear less about his arguements with his missus and more about what he does for the country.
  10. At last, vegan tree surgeons everywhere can carry out their job ethically with no guilt Vegan Chain Saw Boots WWW.ETHICALWARES.COM Vegan Chain Saw Boots

  12. Nice. Can't make out what tree it is?
  13. Introducing a revolutionary chainsaw boot design - the Pfanner BOA® Chainsaw Boot. We are delighted to announce the launch of the world's first-ever chainsaw boot to feature the patented BOA® Fit System. These boots are ideal for workers who are fed up with the time it takes to lace up a traditional boot, or find that their footwear needs adjusted throughout the day. “With the new BOA® Chainsaw Boot from Pfanner you are able to lace your boots perfectly every time, quicker than ever before. In essence, you press down on the dial, turn to tighten and simply pull up the dial to release,” said Andrew Hunter, Managing Director, Outwear Ltd. The BOA® Fit System uniformly distributes the pressure of the laces across the boot to ensure the most comfortable fit. When tightened, no laces are loose or looped that could pose a risk of entanglement, so it is a very safe system to use within the forestry and arb industry. If you get frustrated trying to unfasten laces that are knotted or covered in dirt, then the BOA® Fit System could be your solution. The new boot is guaranteed not to get tangled or knotted, and to release you only need to lift the dial. So with two clicks these boots can easily slide off your feet. The boot is the lightest chainsaw boot offered by Pfanner with Class 2 chainsaw protection. The weight of a size 41 (EUR) boot is under 1Kg! Comfort, support and stability is ensured with a waterproof Sympatex® lining, higher shaft, and Vibram® sole. “We expect that the Pfanner Boa chainsaw boot will be very popular, so contact our specialist Pfanner stockists, shown on our website, and secure one of the first pairs,” Andrew added. Available in Sizes 39-48 (EUR) from August 2019. For more information visit www.outwearltd.co.uk and search for BOA.
  14. Mostly backend changes that will go unnoticed but a lot of small little tweaks that will be visible. Several improvements on the tip site directory also. im actually running a couple of versions behind on the core software and apparently this avatar issue is related to the version I’m using. What doesn’t make sense is why it only just manifested itself though
  15. As has been said, always wear gloves! And as Paul always mentioned, give serious thought to the battery tools. Hedge trimmers inparticular are horrible for vibrations compared to chainsaws. The battery trimmers are a huge improvement. I would be interested to see stats for white finger in 50 year olds now, and 30 years ago. Theres been a huge improvement in anti vibration in that time, as well as education. It must have had a considerable impact on the numbers.
  16. Really not sure. The only thing that we did was download a database backup a little over a week ago. Currently preparing for a large site upgrade and this is being done on a test server. Its possible one of the processes broke something. As i'm busy working on the test server theres not really a massive amount of point me spending time trying to fix the issue here, it will all be fixed when the new site goes live, hopefully around 8 days time.
  17. Max, I have spoken to Alex directly regarding your concerns. He is going to get in touch with you tomorrow.
  18. I assume you have spoken to Suretrack directly about this and ruled out it being a faulty unit?
  19. Dunno, this sounds awesome to me. Would really get rid of some idiots from social media!
  20. Your old one was just the generic one right? Not a custom one?
  21. Yep, in fact that was one of the reasons I started Arbtalk. Us brits used to get a right slating on the american forums when we posted some of the work we did. They don't understand our ways at all. Arguably they are correct, but then they don't have the land constraints that we have, and having a 70ft Sycamore tree in a garden 20ft long probably isn't quite so common over there.
  22. I'd say thats a fair price, and enough to make a nice bit of profit on
  23. Sorry with you now. No, the Picus test was taken at about 10cm from the base where the Ganoderma was.
  24. At the beginning of the thread
  25. As above, whats happening with the arisings?
