The mind does boggle about this whole energy prices and the recent dishy rishie spending & windfall tax, just remove the mandatory green charges for everyone and all the complexity disappears in a heartbeat.

Then just allow the eco types a tariff which includes the green charges, they can then virtue signal to they're friends how much extra they're paying to save the world from doom and gloom.

Convenient timing too given the absolute horrorshow for them being exposed for having parties, and utterly taking the piss out of us, when we were only allowed 30 people at close friends' funerals.

Usual smoke and mirrors kinda stuff, personally i think we all know it was wrong but at the same time the Westminster bubble and the media are completely drowning out anything else happening in the world.

Politics is a bit like South park and the giant douche and a poo sandwich, you vote for the lesser of two evils.

Maybe so but I think it's slightly different and should be viewed as such. We have a PM who has been caught lying to the police and has seemingly got away with it. That's a poor precedent. When the cops say that they're taking 'No further action' (NFA) that doesn't in any way mean the suspect is absolved, it means that they either don't have enough evidence to pursue the charge or that it's 'not in the public interest' to pursue the charge. I'm not sure who decides the latter.

If nobody pulls them on this then they can and will do whatever they want with even more impunity.

It's not as tho the opposition is completely untarnished, regardless of how starmer spins his beer and curry evening.

You can argue one party did less etc, but labour don't have to deal with the civil service and the thousands of people that involves.

I just want them to say we all f'd up and for everyone to just get back to doing the job we need them to do.

There's a few other horrendous statistics on this issue as well. Apparently firearms are the leading cause of death for American children, for instance.

NYPOST.COM

More than 5 deaths per 100,000 Americans between the ages of 1 and 19 were due to guns in 2020, the most recent year for which the CDC has data.

Maybe this subject would be better placed on the Brainwashed Americans thread ........

Horrific as the Texas School shootings were, I can hardly believe that the police waited for 40 minutes for SWAT to arrive, FFS!

Especially as this was actually contrary to their own Departments official policy, put into place after a previous school shooting.

FFS!

Even more ridiculous is that some of the US politicians are suggesting now is the time to arm and train teachers to defend their own schools.

Aye, be a bit of a challenge to disarm a country of over 300M people I suppose. Nutters will always get hands on what they need, easy enough to get a gun (legally) in this country too.
