  2. I don't watch south park but I can't imagine its a balanced place to base your opinion of anyone on. Everyone has a political view, but to invite anyone to come and debate that with you in front of 1000's of people rather than just air it behind a keyboard is something very very few people would have the courage to do. 'He was never flustered, he never had to raise his voice to be heard or shout over someone. He had a quiet determination to spread his message while giving others the opportunity to come and counter his views with their own and talk about it. He'd often quieten the crowd who heckled the person at the mike even though they had opposing opinion to him, acting to make sure he didn’t promote ridicule or humiliation, but a genuine will to try and understand their point of view. He was silenced by someone who didn't have the intelligence to stand up and debate him' (this paragraph I copied from another post, but think its so true). Its certainly a sad day for America. Very enlightening to watch his opinions on Great Britain, this is someone who didn't go to university, travelling halfway across the world to Oxford University to debate, and it seems understanding the underlying issues of Britain today better than those in power (on both sides);

  6. I bet it reeks of perming lotion.
  7. I wouldn't bother. Far easier and less expensive industries to get into than this. Far too much market saturation forcing wages/ profit down.
  8. I have a tractor with a FEL but it's not a big potato area here so doubt 2nd hand crates are particularly common. I'm currently just storing them in hessian sacks but letting the sticks season before processing (and I know this is harder on the blades)
  9. I wanted to propagate a Kentish cobnut by layering but haven't had much success. Was under it today, seeing if there were any nuts that the bloody squirrels had missed, and saw 2 suckers - can I just dig these up and replant them? They're blatantly not growing from the same stool (suppose they could have grown from seed)
  10. British Mycological Society has recently been discussing various Phaeolus finds on Sorbus. Incidentally, Sorbus intermedia has recently been reclassified as Scandosorbus intermedia.
  11. @eggsarascal 3 weeks since the caravan park story and I see you've been on recently and I think it's time to speak up.

  18. I had one on trial about 1.5-2 years ago. At the time it was called the akimbo max. I got one to trial as I had go funded the original akimbo design and Jaime had one floating around Europe so it was sent to me. it didn’t operate well in damp Norwegian conditions. I gave my feedback and passed on to the next trial candidate. it will be interesting to see if it is better than the first version.
  19. You could get a job for eggs, selling cars, or caravan holidays.

  21. Greetings from sunny Detroit! I’m looking for an opinion on two trees close to our house. One is a sugar maple with a concerning crack in the bark just below the “Y.” The “Y” has a spot that collects water and it feels punky when I stick a knife into the base of it. In past icy winter storms this tree has lost several large limbs. I’m thinking this tree needs to go. The second is a big sycamore that also has a punky spot in the base of one of the larger branches that hangs over the house. It has some dark spots on the bark at the base of the tree that seem to be leakage from the trunk. It has been a beast and has never lost a limb to storm damage but it would also do some serious damage if it did fail. Both trees look healthy with no large dead branches and the leaves look fine. They have shaded our house for decades now but if they are becoming weak I’d rather remove them now before they fail and damage the house. Pictures below. The two trees The maple tree from the south west The opposite side of the maple from the south east The sycamore with 4 dark spots on the trunk The large limb with a punky spot
  22. There are some sick individuals out there celebrating the death of a man, father, son etc. I cannot believe some of the tripe I have seen today. RIP.
