I was offered one of these today, £1500, it was looking like it hardly had any use, I didn't buy it, and later telling a colleague about it he said there are some "fakes" about,I've seen "clones" but they were obvious copies, I cant say if it was or wasn't, is there any hints or things I should look out for?

can't speak for the trump shooting, wasn't there, but have seen ear wounds before that judging by the amount of blood you would think were severe wounds but on closer inspection and a clean up were much more minor than first thought. and you can bet he had the absolute best medical team money can buy. a friend of mine was subjected to an attack with a very sharp cleaver, the surgeons put him back together[severe chest wound down to the bone] and he had a large dragon tattoo on his upper body, they matched it together perfectly and now 8 years later there is hardly evidence of it. I myself have been shot twice,[don't ask] stabbed twice, only one scar is now visible. knife produced much more claret that either shot wound. but the latter manifests itself more as I age. I don't think, despite the amount of blood visible it was that bad,, couple of inches to the right,,, and he wouldn't get as much coverage on here as he does currently.

I was quoted 4k for my hilux and sprinter van this year by trust. Shopped around and Aviva came in at 1400. Managed to talk trust down to match but went with Aviva anyway because trust were ripping the piss.

Worked in forestry and shot on a lot of land over the last 45 yrs and only ever had one tick on me but taken hundreds off my dogs, doing some thinning work ATM on a estate that has a large head of both deer and sheep on it so i will be looking more often now,, A forestry co we do a bit for have health and safety days now and then and Lyme,s disease is a big thing, on one of these days they had a young lady there who was the daughter of a bloke i had done a bit of work for on a park home site across the rd from me, you can check her story out on the net and its quite sad really, such a beautiful young lady with big prospects in life and all ruined by 1 tick, Sophie has done a lot of work raising awarness on Lyme,s disease on BBC radio Lancashire and on TV as well, you can check her story out by just googling Sophie ward lyme,s disease and it will bring a few sophie wards up but i am sur you will find it,,

Thanks for pointers. It is Lucas Mill. Swing blade. Doesn't relate to chainsaw qualifications. I think a good risk assessment, method statement should give them enough confidence that I know how to use it...

A bit perplexed by the tax on a new landcruiser. . .

Seems to make more sense if you swap the numbers in mpg and litres/100km columns? -
Well, a famous victory. If there’s one trait that Stokes has that seems to be reflected in his team, it’s that they never give up.

Would you say this tree is too dangerous to climb and dismantle
maybelateron replied to TreecisionJp's topic in Climbers talk
I am not trying to be smug here, but if you have your own (decent) mewp, would it not make sense to use it? It is understandably easy to argue something is ok to climb if using a mewp involves the hassle of hiring in. I don't worry about idiots in cars etc hitting my mewp's legs when it is on the road. I quote the customer for proper traffic management, and shield the mewp with other vehicles/chipper etc. If customer isn't happy with the cost of this they can get someone else in. -
I think it's been subjected to a particularly brutal topping procedure. Apologies for the flippancy. In seriousness though, it's hard to tell the problem based on those photos. Do you have any more, of the surrounding area maybe? What's the history, anything changed recently in the vicinity? Probably not, but it might be something to do with root damage or drought.

The Zulus has got LRF as well as inbuilt ballistics calculator. A lot of tech for the price. Does take a bit of the fun out of it though.

36" bar. Lose 4" in the dogs and cover. 2" stickout. Double bar with a 16" 230 (small dogs) just about meets. Won't be bigger than that will it. Unless you have some longer bar I wasn't aware you could get? He'll have a laugh rolling it over though.

Half an IBC flask on top of the bag and strap that? Keep a bit of rain off too.

always gets me how fast they feather up. Then it'll be mini roadrunners trying to fly. Superb stuff.

Hi All, Bit of a heads up for those employing. We recently had a new chap come to us with view to joining the apprenticeship. He was employed for about 6 weeks all in. During which time we kitted him out with usual PPE including boots, kevs and hi viz t's. He was sporadic in his attendance to work. Siting family issues. Which we were accepting of and made allowances for with a view to a long term employment. My staff repoerted him to be a hard worker and "switched on" operative. Cut to the chase.....One day he reports to have moved to Cardiff to look after his sick father. Taking our PPE with him. At least £500 worth. He now ignores email and other contact attempts. He did suggest his new employer may buy the kit from us so is clearly using it for another employer. Grr!! He also owes one of my staff £50 and another 2 guys at our yard other money borrowed. We have made a police report. Beware this Guy!!
