  2. My 2p is whatever security you're thinking of, get on and do it. Had one trailer nicked while the security wheel lock was on order, that's particularly galling. I wouldn't keep a chipper outside, you need to avoid making things a target and not visible is the first step.
  3. But that is a pertinent point.. likewise those making the most noise about asylum seekers on this forum live a long long way away from where they are housed, and form their opinions as far as I can tell from Farage, the Daily Mail, Linkedin and twatter, rather than going to find out what is happening in reality. It is the singular headlines that are reported here to try to alter opinions and never the complete picture... and those singular headlines are reported from a press with an agenda, with owners who have an agenda )and the agenda is usually make the press owners another billion).

  9. Marketing / selling of any manufactured item ( woodwork or other ) is not easy , in fact it is a whole subject/ industry in itself , think of all the famous brands ,,coca cola . ferarri, stihl etc they all spend a lot of money and time / effort on marketing !! ...however for such things as woodwork then most probably country shows etc I would imagine would be best ...social media can work but is very time consuming and most followers will be other woodworkers who are unlikely to buy your work , I do a fair bit of woodturning and sell mostly through Galleries but could easily make a lot more stuff than I can sell , craft fairs can be very hit and miss ! Good luck .....
  10. Same radical loonies who want to do this: Giuliani, Trumps lawyer who took the hit over the voting machines getting the Medal of Freedom Trump To Award Disbarred 2020 Election Denier Rudy Giuliani The Nation's Highest Civilian Honor UK.YAHOO.COM Past recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom have included Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Mother Teresa all within the realms of possibility given that Giuliani has also been taken to court for sexual misconduct. Great minds think alike and all that..... Woman suing Rudy Giuliani reveals tapes detailing alleged vulgar remarks WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK Noelle Dunphy filed transcripts in court of former NYC mayor allegedly making sexually explicit and anti-semitic remarks

  13. We are currently building a small tree team at Orbit Homes, managing a diverse tree stock for one of the UKs largest social housing providers. We are looking for an Assistant Tree Officer to deliver our tree related services in the Midlands region. Based from home with frequent travel around our sites between Leicester, Oxford and Birmingham, you'll be surveying trees for Health & Safety, responding to customer enquiries, issuing works and managing contractors. This is a great opportunity to expand your skills and take ownership of your own area of the Orbit estate. Full details can be found on our website: https://orbitgroup.org.uk/careers/current-vacancies/job-description/?Category=Property&Advert=LPVWQmSup178ij4zLe1zVg%3D%3D
  14. Screenrecorder-2025-09-02-15-57-01-495.mp4 Wouldnt mind one of these! Looks like a one off machined item, powered by a wood router or similar tool? From here
  15. "Either, or.." - traditionally it would be re-pollarded, cutting above the 'knuckles', but if you go for a thinning out of the regrowth stems I'd stick to approx. 30%, i.e. one in every three(ish) but remember in so doing they will continue to grow in height & diameter. If tree size is an issue, and you don't want to re-pollard, i.e. to original knuckles, you could reduce the regrowth stems in height and start again, in effect, at a higher level, i.e. a high pollard...but this seems a lot of faff for little gain tbh. Good luck whichever way you go...and of course you don't need to go "any way" as you could leave it to grow on / up (unlike Poplars, Limes don;t have a propensity to fail at the knuckles.)

  18. We use trucks .. we tend to chip into bags for the most, we find that it saves a bit of time, and we also deliver chips by the bag load.. small jobs id take my truck with chipper, chip to the bag, load the bags in the truck.. big jobs second truck with trailer, can chip to trailer or bags .. we have never had a problem so far.. dont get me wrong, a tipper, is the standard and were looking at picking up the right one at some stage, but having trucks is workable ..
  19. Good Morning Everyone.
  20. The 1 at the front, same machine model just 1 year newer but smoother on the tracks and hydraulics.
  21. I would have said that it depends on the "waste". Ex FIL got trailer loads from one mill and it was off cuts and bark etc which was stored outside so was very wet. He didn't get the argument that he should have been paid to take that crap away! I got a bench to go on his old Fergie, got the thing working and collected long lengths from Belvoir sawmill and spent a while slicing these off, good exercise and I could put crap into a barrow and put it on the burn heap rather than log shed. It was too much effort for him and I wasn't there that much so we went back to the crap logs! The stuff was sold as "sawmill waste", not as "firewood" as this has to be below a certain moisture content to be sold!
