  3. Which ones new and old? I had a new rope spliced buy manufacturer, they said the tighter splice was to stop the karibeener moving around in the splice if its the one on the left
  4. It's nice if you don't have to do anything physical, but working in that temperature is basically torture. I am fully aware of how heat acclimatisation works, but it's still hard for me to fathom how folk in warmer climes manage. I'm pissing sweat at 20c if I'm working.
  5. I joined the forestry journal FB page to get a bit of context. In fairness, the header (as is often the case) doesn’t really represent what they actually said about it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan boy of the AA. I even became a citizen soldier and fought them on their home planet of Klendathu after they blew up Buenos Aires killing my whole family.
  6. I’ve used Ecoplugs on side growths and suckers, and they work well if applied correctly. Drilling at the right angle into the stem and ensuring the plug sits flush is key for effective herbicide delivery. They’re cleaner and more targeted than spray treatments, especially in sensitive areas where drift or overspray could be a problem.

  11. Let AI and idiots lap up shit. The more chainsaw accidents the better. Let’s get this mess to its conclusion.
  12. That’s pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. The small size is more important than the raw lifting capacity, as I haven’t got a timber trailer to take stuff away so I’ll always be limited by trucks & trailers! What other attachments do you run on yours mate? That’s impressive what it’ll lift with the grab! If I’m down your way I will certainly take you up on that!
  13. I used to plant lots of trees in Denmark but they never used to start things until early April which seems late by UK standards it's maybe because in the past they were used to long winters. Sometimes there would be stuff to do in November/ December but not as much

  24. seems quite a common and not unexpected result, on more than one forum. didn't your "instincts" tell you you cant just claim disused railway lines, or using waste motor oil as chain lube was a seriously bad practice? not to mention the Himalayan Balsam which seems to change it's name with every post. but please continue, it's quite entertaining, and who knows what you might come up with next. 25. Family-run forestry business Treeline have been appointed as official dealers for the full GreenMech woodchipper range across West, Mid and East Lothian & The Borders of Scotland. This announcement aligns GreenMech’s professional portfolio of road tow, pedestrian, tracked and tractor-mounted chippers with Treeline’s three decades of experience supporting forestry operations throughout the South of Scotland. Founded in 1991 on Baddinsgill Farm, nestled within 93 hectares of mixed woodland in the Scottish Borders, Treeline was established by Gavin Marshall. After recognising a disconnect between forest management and contracting services, Gavin set out to create a company that offered clients a seamless, integrated solution. In 2019, Nick Marshall expanded the business by introducing the sale of forestry machinery and arboricultural equipment through a partnership with Fuelwood Warwick. This collaboration enabled Treeline to offer leading brands such as Uniforest, AMR and Heizohack to customers across Scotland. Thanks to outstanding customer service and deep product knowledge, this new arm of the business has continued to grow from strength to strength. “We’re thrilled to join the GreenMech dealer network” comments Nick. “Their range sets the industry standard for productivity, reliability and safety, giving our broad customer-base access to a quality product that is well suited to all mainstream settings and applications and works well alongside our other franchises.” “Teaming up with the enthusiastic and experienced team at Treeline is a fantastic step forward for us in this area” adds GreenMech Sales Director David Blackwood. “Being so firmly rooted in the forestry community and with a fantastic reputation for integrity and in-field expertise, we’re confident GreenMech customers old and new will benefit hugely from the partnership.” For more information on Treeline, or to speak with a member of the team, visit www.treelinescotland.com

  27. Just saw this on Ali Express. The real Akimbo is nearly €500 from Honey Brothers. I'm not going to buy this, or an Akimbo, just curious if anyone has tried the Ali version and what do we think about it? The skeletonized cut-out near the top seems weird to me.
