  2. It may take time, but it's pretty easy to write a letter to ensure that a) the property owner removes the tree (to minimise their liability or b) allows access to remove the tree by the affected property owner. There may be some initial resistance but when faced with the reality of the liability very few resist for long.

  7. Probably a bit more usable than those new ones that need new prop shafts and engines before even going into service 😉
  8. I'd guess it was just used to brutally hack and chop at body parts. Not a pleasant thought. On the odd occasions I've tried it on wood I've found it quite awkward, the angle seems to be wrong. My grandfather was in the RAF in some capacity. I'll to ask my mum if she knows anything about the Kukris, or where he was stationed.
  9. Just please don’t lose the white basic sugi bars, they are excellent value for money 👍 good luck, that sounds like my kind of hell!

    Jokes???

A dwarf was drinking in a bar when a sexy blonde walked up to him and said "I’ve always wanted to have sex with a little person" The dwarf replied, "I’m sorry, but I’ve had women say that before then I go home with them and the husband or boyfriend finds out and I get beaten up" "It's ok" said the woman, "my husband is working away until next week" So, against his better judgement he goes back with the woman. They start having amazing sex when suddenly the front door opens. "it’s my husband!!" she said. "Quick, hang out of the bedroom window and when he goes for a shower, you can climb in and get away" So the dwarf climbs out of the window and hangs on the ledge by his fingertips. The husband comes into the bedroom and says "It’s cold in here" slams the window shut and the dwarf plummets to the ground. The woman is distraught and calls an ambulance. A couple of days later she goes to visit the dwarf in the hospital. "How are you," she asked. "Well, my fingers are broken, I’ve got two broken ankles, a dislocated hip and severe concussion," he said. "Oh dear," she said. "Still, it could have been much worse", "Much worse!?" said the dwarf. "How do you figure that out?". "Well," she said, "you’re lucky that I live in a bungalow".
  13. Poplar is a hardwood, but I know what you mean, its at the softer end 😀
  14. Did you check black/white oil pump and that everything is consistent? Just try regular more expensive bar oil as an experiment (after cleaning and flushing everything out) you are wasting money on replacement worm gears anyway, plus the lack of oil won't be good for your bar nose sprocket.
  15. You must have tied into some absolute nothingness on your various tip expeditions. Ever bundled regrowth together?
  16. It won't rot and die because of the inclusion. The inclusion may split open in the future, leaving a fraction of the tree and a gaping wound that will never heal over.
  17. The tips will turn brown sometimes no matter how sharp cutter is, had it on a hedge a couple of years ago hedge cutter was brand new and razor sharp.

Yeah it's 15mm. I'm going to add a short length of plastic/rubber so the water can be directed downwards as it coms out horizontally with some force; that tank (we have two) is 1200L!

  20. With the greatest of respect there should be no need to keep adjusting carb screws, having to adjust the mixture is very often masking engine issues, auto tune is very reliable, it will keep the saw running at peak performance without the need to fiddle with adjuster screws, one of the main reasons I see is users ordering new auto tune carbs from dealers then find they do not run as they only have boot firmware on them, then they need to be connected to the service program.

Due to a career change I'm selling this climbing kit, it's a two rope system and contains everything needed except a harness. Everything was bought by me from new. All items except the odd bits of accessory cord are still on a valid LOLER certificate until 20/07/24, which I can provide. Everything will also pass another LOLER with no issues as it is now. Items aren't very old and have only been used a handful of times, a few bits would look much brighter after cleaning, kit has always been stored properly with any wet kit being properly dried out before putting away, as well as bags been left open to allow air circulation. The kit includes: 1x Stein 70 litre kit bag - has a couple of small holes but nothing major 2x Stein Vault rope bags 2x 35m lengths of Yale XTC Plus 12.8mm rope, both with a spliced eye 6x DMM Ultra O triple lock carabiner 2x Stein Cambium savers with retrieval ball 1x Tuefelberger pulley saver with retrieval ball 2x Tuefelberger Sirus loop prusik cords 60cm 1x Petzl grillon lanyard set 1x set of AGS climbing spikes - these were just cheap spikes as not needed much, the tip of the gaffs are slightly bent, but this could be filed out, or replaced, the gaffs should be interchangeable with Bashlin gaffs. 3x extra prusik cords, made from 9mm Marlow Boa accessory cord - these do not contain serial numbers therefore will not pass a LOLER inspection, but are in perfect condition. 1x extra length of 9mm Marlow Boa accessory cord - no seriel number 1x extra length of Marlow Gecko rope - no seriel number The cost to buy all of this new would be just over £1100 Open to sensible offers Message or email is the best way to contact me.

  22. So it's just more complexity for a simple engine and more things to go wrong. Yey for more Chinesium in the scrap pile.

  24. Well I've also just got hold of Makita's baby 18V cordless rear-handle saw, the DUC357. It is not advertised as having an inertia brake by Makita UK but I did find Makita Canada mention on their product page that it has one. Low and behold I was easily able to get the brake to come on with the nose-drop test for the DUC357. Definitely some mixed messages from the manufacturers.
