  2. Are you talking about my mum there?
  3. You definitely have to pick your battles regarding jobs, and climbing yourself or getting someone else in, as you get older. It’s a fine line, you’ve got to keep your ‘match fitness’ so to speak. I still enjoy big climbs when there isn’t much to do, or smaller climbs when there’s a fair bit to do. Big climbs with lots to do are in my history. My favourites are small climbs with not much to do, but for big money.
  4. I was going to say I haven't had one of these completely stripped down but pullers are generally your friend pulling any bits apart but the ball joint splitters look good.
  5. Thanks Mark. It would be good to see what you can find out.
  6. We adapted one of our home-made post punners, adding a return bracket, to stop half-round posts from twisting, while being driven. Quite good for holding any type of post though. Cost: just half an hour, with a stick welder!
  7. Thanks. The 300's should provide full power. If its anything like the Stihl MSA 300 it will only hit about 5,000 RPMs with a standard battery.
  8. Then give it a go, with the option to change your mind (without any penalty, either way) in say, 18 months time? Anticipate one or more break-ins and don't leave any power tools/valuables there overnight -it looks less secure than a cardboard box.. I think Mick's right, it does seem a high monthly rental cost -but then I'd imagine renting a couple of old back-street shipping containers might cost €400 a month, anyway ? We just bought three of them, including an office unit, 'temporarily' rather than rent them.. and that was 2 decades ago; they're still in daily use!
  9. I have that album somewhere . Do you know original pressing are fetching £100 + on the bay .
  10. Just dropped my 2nd truck off for them to convert, highly recommended and not too far for you compared to a lot of firms. They’re also 10 mins from a train station, easy return journey and pick up. Don't be fooled by prices thrown about online/facebook either, half the time it’s false economy as they use cheap thin metal for the subframe, cheap hydraulics, lots of “extras” etc.
  11. Morning gents, a fine crisp weekend here, blue sky and the feeling of winter. I got a good nights sleep last night, breakfast and a walk up the river with the dog. Now back to wrap my boys presents and maybe even string some lights up on the front of the house.

    I think aware is correct.
  14. Goat willows do sometimes grow some surprisingly large burrs -like this small one. Keep an eye on it for a couple of years, if you know any wood turners/carvers, they love them !

  16. costs for everyone have shot up. I will probably close down the yards here soon, the cost to run a loader and then time to load artics with chip just isn’t worth it. I know when I do that a lot of local lads will be frustrated as there aren’t many places where they can tip day and night around here.
  17. Thanks

  21. did you see the outtakes at the end
  22. I purchased a new Hilux in Jan 2024 and the first thing I did was take it to a specialist for full waxoyl injection. And then treated any areas myself that I felt were missed. When I had the letter from Toyota about recalls I contacted my local dealer. They said they would only be inspecting it and if anything just waxing the chassis, so we agreed no point in them even looking at it. They said warranty would still be valid regardless.
  23. Here's some more - not sure that they are all even fungi !!!
