Morning all. Bitt miffed to wake early this morning, one chance of a lie in. Was up and at 'em yesterday to help my mate sort his chimney, another mate dropped scaffold for us in the morning and we had it done and dismantled again by evening. Stripping it down was interesting, when the top rails were off I was feeling quite exposed, far less comfortable than being on spikes at that height taking a top, and I'd already taken to free climbing the outside to get up and down rather than the ladder as it felt far better. What you're used to I suppose but strange how the mind works. I've a lot of time for Igor Mick, some good memories of the stuff you've said about him on here, particularly one night when he had the wanderlust and I remember how frustrated you sounded, pacing around the house while awaiting his return! All the best to the wee bugger, I'd say he's a bit of an arbtalk legend! Have a good one folks.

What the most unusual thing you have found in a tree
Mike Hill replied to Henry218's topic in Climbers talk
Put a picture up please. Guns with a story are much more interesting. I have one that I bought years ago from the son of the first owner, who after surviving WW1 died a few weeks after coming home by falling off a horse. -
Or He was afraid you were a rank amateur and you wouldn't pay if he refused to sign off substandard work? I have gotten this with tree reports. If what I recommend goes against the wishes of the client they kick up a fuss.

A broader sweep of the trees (picture wise) might help.

Iβll blow a load of brake cleaner or wd40, then the airline, if it doesnβt work properly after that, it gets relegated to less critical duties.

Mark have you read some of the stuff thatβs being posted in the Potus thread ffs radicalised, who meππyou kidding me. Now as for some others here they might very well find themselves on a secret service watch list the quantity and content of the posts they put upπ€. You got a daughter or kids mark ?? Iβm not sure if you have or not, but put it to any of your friends who have a daughter in the same way and use the same language and insinuations that SP has done on more than one occasion and see how they react. Im no angel Mark, far from it, and will absolutely fight my corner but there is 100% a line I wonβt cross. As another said, he should be ashamed. As I said thanks for your βconcernβ but the biggest run in Iβve had with the law since 1990 is 3 points for speeding ( in an HGV ) on the A1 at Berwick that year.

Hi, Iβm Looking for an ID on these. both located on beech trees. I'm was thinking Kretzschmaria, however I am unsure due to the texture being quite porous and it is pretty tough not brittle. I have also found the same black lumps lying in the woodland away from any trees and not connected to anything. cheers
-
I agree with that. You will probably struggle to get permission due to health and safety etc. No one is really going to grant permission to go and climb as they would get sued to death if something bad happened. I did a bit of rec climbing in the local woods while training in college, just make sure you have someone to spot you at the very least.

Magnolia getting too large, no I.D. Keep or cut down?
spudulike replied to Little Splodge's question in Homeowners Tree Advice Forum
That magnolia looks like one I had at my previous house. The thing just puts on loads of growth each year and needs thinning out often to keep it at a manageable size. It isn't sniffy at when or how much in my experience. -

And now a little song sung by my old next door neighbor.

dvla have always been problematic, you could phone on ten successive days, ask the exact same question and get a different answer each time. I recall one instance when you had to surrender the old tax disc to got a refund for the remaining duty, they asked for "recorded delivery" with a signature upon receipt, which I duly complied with, over a month passes and I have yet to receive my refund, so I phone them, 3,1/2 days later somebody actually answered the phone and informed it was lost? "But you signed for it, so it wasn't lost in post at all was it,?" a brief silence ensued,, she then said,, "no it was lost internally" "Ok, what happens now?" "no disc, no refund I'm afraid" wankers!! now they have a different scheme whereby the tax cannot be transferred with change of ownership of the vehicle. and the present owner gets back any full remaining months duty, and the new owner has to tax from the beginning of the month he wishes to use the vehicle from, the current month has been paid for already by the previous owner, but if new owner needs to use the vehicle immediately he has to backdate it to the beginning of the already paid for month. and your refund is calculated from the date they deal with it, so if they "lose it" that's never. I told dvla long ago ,I usually like being kissed when I'm getting fecked.

Iβm glad the uk never went that far.

Their system is a lot more regulated compared to the UK in my experience, if you subcontract work from another company they may not v=be able to pay you without the right tax documentation

No longer working in the industry so time to sell. Grab has seen next to no use along with the Winch. Bucket is well used. Mud flap missing Front mesh grill has seen better days but I never changed it due to use in the woods just incase. Great tractor, starts instantly and no smoke.
