  1. I've bead welded and 're ground rollers, not on a 530, but it was an old machine and it made a difference. Bit of a faff getting them out, but could be worth it, if you can do it yourself.
  2. Defo! I'm not a Miller, but I've seen the results of strawberry. Unfortunately, it was a couple of years after I had logged up the only one I've ever taken down.
  3. I can tell your conscientious and take pride in your work/reputation, in this case, I think the advise should be, don't admit responsibility. (I'd say its doubtful, anyway, that it's anything to do with you) I've also seen something similar caused by an angle grinder bein used to cut flags. Burrs of metal left on the patio. They don't show up straight away, until they have rusted. I would just sit tight. Not worry. If he pursues it, either ask him to prove it was you, or as somebody else suggested, if you have insurance, pass on to them. I can't see him pursuing it. I wouldn't have thought it would be worth his time.
  4. Was the patio even down when you priced the job? I wish people would get jobs done in the right order. It would make it easier for everyone. I priced a large pop at the bottom of someone's garden once. Ground surrounding it was an unkept border. Thought great. Chog onto that. Went back to do the job and they'd had a patio laid. No mention! ?
  5. What is he alleging has made the staining? Sap, chain oil? It looks more like rust marking. Do you think it was actually you that caused it? Ive seen the metal straps used to strap flags cause rust marks. But normally in a banding pattern. What is the pattern of the staining? Is it more prominent nearer where you were working? As for a remedy, if it's natural stone, it won't be easy, as whatever it is will have absorbed, and most detergents will stain/alter the stones natural colour
  6. Wouldn't it be nice, if when it failed, it landed on the summer house. Looking at the balance though, it would need a bit of persuasion
  7. When I read the title I thought your concern may have been chain oil staining a decent patio. Just something else to consider
  8. Hmmm. Who's told him they're worth £120 Probably the tree surgeon that didn't want to take them away
  9. Sorry, can't help, but I've stopped asking for advice on here
  10. I like it. Would someone else like to waste their money on this, and then tell me it's shit. ?
  11. I've always done maintenance/servicing on my chippers, but for some reason, I always used to put the van in. I do both now, if it's beyond my abilities I have a mechanic friend and we do it together. The turning point came when a garage put a new battery on, when all that it needed was connections cleaning. I know this because they reluctantly gave me the old battery, and i charged it and tested it. I suppose, from their point of view, what could they charge for cleaning a terminal. Thing is if they charged nothing, they might still have my business
  12. Hi. Looking at a 2005 transit tipper. Any common faults etc. that i should pay particular attention to? Thanks
  13. He needs to invoice you. Then it's up to him whether he pays the tax
  14. I'll just turn it upside down. Voila!
  15. Thanks for the advice Mike. I might take up a string instrument, maybe the viola
  16. I've got by for years, tried numerous types, but haven't bought any for 5-6 yrs. Just wondering if there are any recent additions on the market favoured by left handers. Thanks

    Ms 362 idle problem

Yes. What I meant is I've reset it using the instruction manual. Think gk has got it
  18. I have a ms362 (2011). Had it from new. Not a lot of use. It's always been a bit unreliable. Latest problem is getting it to idle correctly. It goes from the chain spinning, to stalling, with only the slightest adjustment of the idle screw. Done a factory reset. Running fine at high end. Any suggestions? Thanks
  19. You've sort of answered your own question. Your private medical insurance doesn't cover accidents and emergencies, which is why you can't and shouldn't opt out of national insurance . Hope your mother is ok
  20. Fantastic. Well done. What wood is it? I appreciate electric saws are quieter, and I've never really considered the lower vibrations, but I can't stand the whining pitch the electric saws make.
  21. I had someone accuse me of ripping him off once. He asked for some free wood, I dropped off a few lengths of sycamore and he said I'd dumped my rubbish in his garden ?
  22. Try them. They may offer you unprocessed wood, which you can pick up from their yard, for beer money. If you want dried processed wood, you are going to have to pay. A good deal of time and effort has gone in to get it to that stage
  23. I don't think he's trying to take advantage either, but you need to clarify with him what he will accept as a satisfactory outcome. Repair/replace or new roof. Looks like the old cement boards to me, which did contain low level asbestos, the newer ones don't, but are a different gauge. If he is happy for you to repair it, take a piece of the broken one to a local roofer. They are replacing this type of roof all the time. I'm sure they would be able to help. You might get lucky at your local industrial estate. There's a derelict unit near us, probably 60sq m of the stuff sitting there
