  1. Thanks. I appreciate it's impossible for anyone to give me an exact course of action. But you've pretty much answered my question in that I was looking for procedures, protocols etc. Regarding the trees, were they to be felled they would reach the track but it's not a fell, just reduction. Also forgot to mention, the clients had rail network out in the hopes that they would do the work. They said no, as they weren't there's and they posed no interference to them
  2. I've been to look at a job. The client's garden backs on to a railway line. The client has a row of beech which was once a hedge to reduce. Behind the beech is their fence, 30 ft of embankment and then the tracks. I am confident I can deal with the job from the clients garden. Do I need to inform/ get permission to carry out the work. The line is low speed diesel trains (not electrfied) Thanks
  3. That looks to me like 3 young lads who've been sent out and told to get the job done. With a bit of guidance from someone with experience they would've coped with that, learnt something and had a positive experience. I bet none of the people in the vid own that company. That is the person who is ultimately to blame
  4. Thanks. There is someone locally. It's an old chipper though and I don't know if it's worth doing. Just trying to get an idea of prices to see if it's worth taking to them.
  5. Hi Does anyone know, roughly, how much it would cost to get my chipper chute and flywheel casing shotblasted and 'repainted? Thanks
  6. Please don't let him get away with it without a fight. Tell everyone what he's up to as well. If I was one of the builders I'd be giving him some too. Too many hard working people get ripped off by his type. Stand up to him and hopefully he will think twice next time. Good luck.
  7. Thanks everyone. Took carb off cleaned everything. Didn't replace anything. Working ok for now, carb kit ordered. Thanks
  8. Thanks. I've had the needle sticking in the past and it caused similar issues. Think it may just be tired. It's an '08 and done it's fair share. Just can't put my hands on 500 quid at the min so trying to keep it going for a couple of months
  9. Ha ha. Like that. Forgot to mention tho, I changed spark plug and was exactly the same! Will look into coil tho. Carb kit first as it's cheaper?
  10. Ta?
  11. Any ideas? Starts ok. Will idle ok. Pull the trigger and it runs for approx 20 secs and dies suddenly. Start her up again and does the same. Thought it might have been the breather. Blown and cleaned out. Same with fuel filter in tank and air filter cleaned. Problem started after a refuel, when I let it run out. (Try not to do that usually). Haven't looked at carb yet. Is that the next step? Thanks
  12. Thanks Pete for putting me on to Gibson's. They've sorted me out. Very impressed with their service. Get this though, I've put everything back together and the top roller is going in the wrong direction on forward and reverse. How on earth have I managed that? All I can think is l manually turned the rollers to access the bolts, could this be the reason? I'm baffled (Not removed any hoses etc)

  14. I thought drill a hole in the top of the wooden block, shove a fairy liquid top on it and jobs a goodn!!
  15. I think it's been running with a drilled piece of hardwood in place of the square block. Only guessing!
  16. What's missing from here please? Top feed roller Kwikchip 222 (old one with 625 lombardini). Is it a bearing in a square housing. Anyone had one and can think that far back? Even better, anyone breaking one and selling parts? Any help or advice appreciated. I've taken the bar and springs off! It's what is missing from the shaft that is concerning me Thanks
  17. Hi Gary.

Sorry to bother you, out of the blue. I was looking over some old posts. Have you still got the pdf for an early kwikchip 222? You mentioned having one in German.

I only took the rollers off to put an edge on them, but now the top roller isn't sitting right. It's like I've missed something, anyway, thanks if you can send it

    [email protected]

    Thanks

  18. Thanks Bill [email protected]
  19. Hi Anyone got a p df parts manual for an old kwikchip 222 with the lombardini 9ld 625 engine? I only took the feed rollers out to sharpen them, but they are not sitting right when I put them back. It's like I'm missing something. Thanks
  20. All sorted. (For now, anyway). Thanks for all the replies. I tapped the motor with a hammer, and it's working now. My type of mechanics. Pick a suitable hammer and hit it!
  21. Mitsubishi L200. My mate suggested tapping the motor with a hammer (as you would a starter motor) and that has worked. Don't want to be doing that all the time tho, just hoping it happened because it's not been used for a few weeks whilst I've been on hols
  22. No. I've just seen that on YouTube. That seems like a good place to start. Thanks. You just disconnect it?
  23. Can anyone help me with a method of fault finding for my hydraulic ram tipper.? Not sure where to start. It hasn't been used for 3 weeks, but was working fine. Don't know the make, it's operated remotely, light comes on the remote control and there is a clicking noise when pressed, but that is it. No movement of the ram at all. Can't check reservoir for fluid level, but was ok 3 weeks ago, and no evidence of a leak. Don't want to just start taking it apart, I'm sure there must be a correct method of doing things, Thanks
  24. I have a fair amount, enough to process, but is it worth it?
