  1. I've got a big job coming up topping snowmen... [emoji12][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  2. A common one I used to see in Brittany, Was like the first photo but they would leave a tiny twig at the top. So very French. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji51]
  3. Heretics!!! [emoji12]
  4. Today's milling in Wigan for an Arbtalker. [emoji3][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  5. Get a photo of the serial number before you part with the cash. [emoji848]
  6. Emergency overide, Had this a few times. Cuts through most red tape. I've worked in loads of weird places due to "emergency measures". Pays well too. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  7. Tuesday bearings went on the trailer, wheel nearly came off [emoji51] Today, milling a particularly nice log, the upright support cracked sending one side of the mill 5" down . Buggered 2-3 expensive slabs. [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]
  8. Happy birthday foxy [emoji3][emoji106]
  9. I love a good crown to mill, 2.5" thick should help it stay together. It may warp and check a little but that's the character. Really starting to appreciate turkey oak. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  10. Today's milling went much better. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  11. Yesterday's milling went a bit wrong. Who puts half inch nails into trees? Completely knackered the chain. [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]
  12. Great videos oitw [emoji106]
  13. Bt wires are on "springs" they are a bit "stretchy". Can they be pulled to one side whilst you work? Got a photo? [emoji106]
  14. An 880 will be cheaper to buy new than old 090. But if you could get a working cheap one... [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  15. Get an 880. The 090 is a great saw but very outdated. It's slow, noisy, and very expensive to fix. The 880 is faster but does have less torque. Not a problem with 84" bars. Just remember to get an auxiliary oiler if going over 48". [emoji106]
  16. It's nearly impossible to compete with big sawmills. I tried a few years back with sweet chestnut. Absolute failure, but I did get to meet a whole load of people who really helped my business. I know a lot of tree surgeons and foresters with big yards, I buy big logs from them for more than firewood prices, mill them up and drop them round various woodworkers/builders and furniture makers. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  17. Get a plastic bin/bucket cut the bottom off. Put bin in net, fill bin, remove bin. [emoji106]
  18. Get a bigger chipper with a proper built in feed winch. Have a look at big bandits. Used to use it for zip lining straight to chipper. [emoji106]
  19. I've been bashing the Oregon chain 75EXL for a while now. After initial stretching they are fine. It does keep its edge a bit longer I've found. Not a game changer, but a decent chain from Oregon [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  20. [emoji106]
  21. Stunning mate, might have to order a few more for Xmas pressies [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  22. Stunning mate, might have to order a few more for Xmas pressies [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  23. Woodmizer, logosol and woodlands all make good bandsaws. It's the loading and turning which eats time. 10k for a mill and another 10k for hydraulics [emoji106]
  24. Started on this turkey Oak yesterday [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  25. Ouch. [emoji51]
