  1. Got another 3 slabs off before my neck/back went twang loading on my own. [emoji51][emoji106]
  2. Make sure you get diagonal support bars for stability and tie it onto the building. Very wobbly.[emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]
  3. They are heavy, slow, loud, crap AV, changing the chain or bar is a pita. However that saw will still be running long after all the modern plastic saws die. [emoji106]

If you are interested in joining a national saw milling directory? Have a look at the previous post, Who's in? [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  8. Thanks for all the feedback[emoji106] How about: 1 Business name 2 Areas covered 3 (optional) description/milling capacity/bandsaw/Lucas/Alaskan photos? 4 Contact details Feel this allows the option to be as discreet or open as you prefer. [emoji848][emoji106]
  9. Milled this beech today for a client, It had a fist sized rot pocket,[emoji51] Pushed the 4' felling bar halfway in[emoji51] Didn't know if it was worth milling.[emoji51] Then like a small fire... Which grew... Finally found the rot, Last couple of boards will be a resin job. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  10. This is a private client. I bought the log to mill in place. I'll ask Bob about highfields when I speak with him next. [emoji106]
  11. Are you putting glass in fresh cut timber?
  12. Both. I travel nationwide milling for clients, and I know quite a few tree surgeons and foresters who call me when they have a really nice log. But often the majority of my work is tree surgery. The milling has really taken off this year though. There is money to be made but it's not much, hard to be a full time miller. The retailer of the mirror gets the big slice. [emoji106]
  13. 3 arrests for arson
  14. Only had a couple of hours today on this beech. Will get back to it later in the week. [emoji106]
  15. Nice setup Mark, Is that a logosol F2? [emoji106]

  18. Yep. See your point. Maybe just business name, areas covered and contact details?
  19. Can you mill him some bigger beams? [emoji106]

  21. Thanks Steve [emoji106] I'd like to get a bit of feedback from regulars to make sure it's useful. [emoji106]
  22. That was my biggest concern, Not wanting to make more work for already hard working types. I was thinking of a thread where we could list area, type of mill etc. Not an actual directory. [emoji106]
  23. 346 spud ported [emoji106]
  24. Fair point. [emoji106]
  25. Thoughts, opinions and ideas please [emoji106]
