  1. Yep. See your point. Maybe just business name, areas covered and contact details?
  2. Can you mill him some bigger beams? [emoji106]
  3. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106] Brilliant!
  4. Thanks Steve [emoji106] I'd like to get a bit of feedback from regulars to make sure it's useful. [emoji106]
  5. That was my biggest concern, Not wanting to make more work for already hard working types. I was thinking of a thread where we could list area, type of mill etc. Not an actual directory. [emoji106]
  6. Thoughts, opinions and ideas please [emoji106]
  7. How difficult would it be? And who would be up for going on it? [emoji848][emoji106]
  8. Satisfying? [emoji3][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  9. That resin stuff is mad. We had diagonal cracks in my old workshop beams. Structural engineer said no problem, Fill em with resin. For your mate Gobby, he could laminate with resin but ideally needs pressure to make the whole stable. You're right about the bolts. [emoji106]
  10. Why? Auto tune/mtronic is awesome. The 365 is a good doorstop mind. [emoji12][emoji106]
  11. Eight years off grid? Really Vesp? [emoji848]
  12. You can use white spirit, I prefer moonshine. 50/50 [emoji106]
  13. PVA if kept under cover, Most types of paint, oil or wax will work. Personally for oak I'd use tung bean oil. [emoji106]
  14. Yeah.... That needed a 36kv arc to split the molecules. During the WW2 over 500,000 vehicles on British roads used gasification, mainly using coal. After paying £20 for 5 litres of aspen, I'm beginning to think there would be a market for wood petrol or liquified wood gas. [emoji106]
  15. If liquified it would be comparable to LPG. Think about it, all that woodchip... [emoji848][emoji106]
  16. What about wood gas? You can extract tars, oils, diesel, petrol and that's just the by products. The gas(once cleaned) will burn readily in a petrol engine with only minor adjustments to the carb. Most dried biomass will work. [emoji848][emoji106]
  17. I presume you've tried ringing his landline every day at 5am to politely remind him of the outstanding invoice? [emoji106]
  18. Fascinating piece of kit Steve [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  19. Ten years ago in Brittany my French work colleagues long house burnt down. Fully for 3 days. The only thing left was the external 3' thick walls and the main oak beam. 2' square and 20'+ long. We had to cut it out. Unbelievably the black char was only 1-2" deep. If I hadn't seen the whole house burnt down I wouldn't have believed it. Air dried for several centuries and still didn't burn. [emoji848][emoji3][emoji106]
  20. Hi Stewie, Where abouts are you? Might be interested. [emoji106]
  21. Got a mate with a pimped off road jimny. Great bit of kit. [emoji106]
