  1. watched an interesting vid the other day, explaining why Chinese manufactured bikes can be sold as made in Germany.. Apparently the bikes are made in China, but sent to Indonesia to be painted. because being painted in another country is seen as adding value to the product, this has a bearing on the import tax, goes from 13 percent to five.. Then cobbling the finished product together in Germany/England, it allows you to legally claim the item is made in Germany/England.. Greenmech could of course do the same thing, have the metalwork fabricated in China, get it painted somewhere else then add the value by assembling the product at home and only using top spec components on final assembly.. Bearings/engines and electronics... to be honest, no one gives a monkey if something is fully manufactured in Britain, they care if its a quality product.. If I could lower the price, but keep the same high standards I recon I'd give that some serious thought..
  2. Found a handgun wrapped in a plastic bag.. must of been in there a year or so as it was startin to rust up..
  3. You need a good pair of tripod ladders, I have the Japanese ones.. bought em from Seddons a few years back.. they're one of those things you look at and fancy getting for a few years and think, balls to it I've managed up to now I'll manage again.. Then when you get em you wonder why you didn't buy em years earlier.. I also like to take a small pair of stepladders for the hedges that are just a little to high when I'm on foot.. At a pinch I tie a single ladder onto the tripod ladders if I need an extra couple of ft of height.. For the odd job I use a scaffold tower which although is useful is a pain in the arse to move about.. I've done the ladder crossed with a plank and you can't get a good clean line.. and the customers ladders which never seemed to end well.. wobbling about, leading to spending more time shitting yourself than actually cutting the edge..
  4. I swear that paper makes my skin crawl every time I see an article from it on my Google News feed.. Bunch of trolling SJW left wing lunatics..
  5. Didn't the SNP lose seats last time out.. because all they did was bleat about a new referendum.. Lets be honest, everyone including the English have had a gut full of referendums and the damage they've done..
  6. Or you where born with the right genitals but the wrong brain.. No I'm not trying to be funny but have you considered that.. mans body female brain or vice versa setting off a lifelong psychological conflict.. what if they could operate on a brain to make it right for the body you had... There you go, that should get some thinking..
  7. Anyways I've decided to condense my earlier post in the interest of brevity.. The solution to crappy staff problems isn't putting up with them but having an ability to get shut of the bad ones quickly.. do that and the good ones will stay longer and make your life happier...
  8. hahaha go find a forum for gardening LOL.... you think I want to commit suicide or something.. I'd rather die than trawl through one of those.... Anyways, I do work in the arb industry, only its every now and then...
  9. He has a right to give his opinions just as you have.. whats the problem..
  10. You could of watched that vid and learned something about managing a business instead you wasted twenty minutes trying to say something amusing... Which to be fair to you don't really matter as much as it would to the fella who is at his whits end who started the thread.. I'll save you some time and give you the gist of the vid.... an employee, is working in a universe of his own.. an employer, is someone who's job it is to manage people.. like a football manager managing a team.. If the football manager is bad, the team falls apart. if he's good the team wins as does the manager.. Its down to a manager to create the conditions for healthy thriving team.. thus if the fella wants to blame his staff for being crap, he's making excuses for his own shortcomings.. The answer to the problem of crappy staff is see if the problem lies elsewhere.. I personally suspect its not about keeping staff thats making the team weak, but a refusal to get rid of them when they need shipping out...
  11. The vid was aimed at those with a brain who wish to learn something.. Not sure you count to be honest.....
  12. nothing like a motivational vid to sort things out...
  13. safety of the operator springs to mind... Then again, after looking at the bill for buying that thing the operator might suffer a damned heart attack..
  14. I'll hazard a guess he lived n Wigan and later moved to Chorley.. traffc being what it is down there I'd move out of Wigan if I lived there..
  15. The ones I've used are electric.. thought they might break up with the concrete but no, they turned out to be very handy..
  16. I'd sooner use a JCB and really pull the fkrs out. but we can't get a JCB through a typical garden gate can we.. then theres the convenience of loading a breaker into the back of a van as opposed to loading a mini digger up in a morning.. as to cutting off the posts just below ground level, you'd be better off pulling the posts out and be done with it..
  17. haha, hows about one of these... might even do for the odd tree stump.. I'd still get a breaker. One, it'll do the job you want doing ie break off the concrete surrounding the post, and easier to get to the job.. as opposed to a mini digger that you might be able to use once every blue moon..
  18. You might be as well to buy yourself a concrete breaker and bash off the concrete with that.. faffing about in a back garden with a mini digger.. transport and all that hassle.. pry bars spade sledge hammer and breaker.. bite the bullet...
  19. could be the suns burned em during the hot summer we've had.. then theres always the odd one that doesn't take... I'd hold off the neighbor until you get some evidence..
  20. been waitin to see who you had in mind... come on, spit it out now we all want to know..
  21. Its the sort of thing one imagines people might of thought up and used until someone invented a winch....
  22. hahha thanks Silky, I wish I would of gone now.. next time its on I'm going...
  23. Great work Silky, lovin the pics.. I was gonna go but had things to do.. You couldn't do a fell pics of the smaller chippers, I like a bit of wee chipper porn..
  24. Well educated he might be, intelligent I might take issue with.. If he was intelligent he wouldn't be so keen to follow the dogma of the Catholic church.. especially in regards the rape of a young woman and her being forced to bear and keep that child.. the mans a lunatic.. His views on Europe no doubt come by the same reasoning.. he was told by his dad that Europe was bad so thats good enough for him.. Much the same as his reasoning on abortion.. the Catholic Church says abortion is bad.. Rees Mog jumps on board like a fish.. intelligent,,, bollocks.. He doesn't do his own thinking, he just spews out the dogma that surrounds him.. his dads views and the laws of the church.. has he even got a brain..
