Not sure exactly how it works, or did work.. perhaps fleets and the owners of fleets sold quota's.. anyways would explain how it was only a few families had the bulk of the rights to fish.. fleet owners.. amalgamation in times past..

I did read that the rights to fishing our waters belonged mostly to a few families, and it was they that sold their quota to the highest bidder... don't imagine that wouldn't happen again.. greed is greed..

Because they're as bad as any other fishermen, too dumb to know they're as dumb as they are.. talk about being halfwhits.. they'll overfish and then complain someone else has done the damage.. our fishing stocks only ever had a chance to recover during the war.. thick as pig shit..

I'm all for blowing fishing boats out the water, including our own.. I'm for a European army as well.. a reinvigorated German military wouldn't be such a bad thing.. as it is, Putin imagines he can roll into central Europe with everyone rolling over like the cowards they most assuredly are.. We need Germany to be strong and capable as a deterrent.. not so much a deterrent to Putin but the next one along..

You're assuming I give a shit about Yemen or its problems.. its along way off for one, and knowing something about how the whole business started I've come to the conclusion that I don't care about what goes on there.. and on the other hand, I do care about the medieval practices of our religious community.. to whit Gay Conversion Therapy.. In fact, both things are related when I think of it, I forget what it was, but I was watching a utube vid about the Yemeni war and how it started, and I came across some of the medieval cultural practices of the Houthis and it was while watching that that I decided it would be better all round to wipe them all out and start all over again..

Well to be honest having just looked at Gay Conversion Therapy I can't see why it shouldn't be something in the news.. all sounds medieval to me. especially when this conversion therapy is practiced by the religious lunatics knocking about..

looks ingenious that does... I have a few fall arresters knocking about, I was gonna take the large hooks off'a them and try those.. I do have a captain hook, bought it a year or so back after watching a utube vid.. never used it in anger yet mind.. somethin I've been workin on of late was rigging.. in that regards I bought an endless rope wrench that turned up just the other day.. marvelous bit of kit.. thats gonna come in useful one day as well.. anyone else like me, see a gizmo and get all exited to have it, get it then totally lose interest in the damned thing..

well true enough, but we all belong to groups. black white brown yellow and red in the case of american Indians.. English Welsh or Scotish.. we define ourselves as individuals and our group identity..

The thing is I did mention a spectrum.. your black friend is obviously on the higher end for his population group.. typically we should see people as individuals, but how in hells bells are we to do that when describing a group.. thats the conundrum when discussing populations and the strengths and weaknesses of different groups.. In a nutshell, your friend is on the higher end for his group, the group that typically falls at the bottom end of the other groups.. and just because someone is on the lower end of the spectrum, it don't mean they're rotten little fks.. it just means a higher percentage of them will be.. it explains a problem, it don't solve one..
