  1. Now heres a man who know's his limitations...... a force of nature moving against an immovable object...
  2. Theres are those that are charming and those that are not.. Oscar Wilde. I don't give a fk about insults as long as they're funny.. just happens I found Matties funny.. thats all that matters..
  3. you get a point for the hand job part... the rules was a reference to takin on your own responsibility, not anything to do with lolering equipment as such.. so one deducted for that.... by the way its not what those emo's are used for but the bloody size of em that annoys.. where you all gettin em from...
  4. What I love is regulations and red tape... HnS.... what ever happened to taking on your own responsibility for the work you do... and it is what I do, I wouldn't let anyone else use my chainsaw on a job.. or ask em to climb. if I cause any damage I won't be claiming on insurance.. I take the risk I take on the responsibility... I don't see why a third party should be hovering over tryin to get their pound of flesh..
  5. I had to go find that and read it again.. was wonderin what you was getting at.. anyways, you've read it wrong.. And....... what the hells with these dumb arse over sized smiley faces and such.. they look crap...
  6. I've gone through this before, I only ever take on jobs I am confident I can manage... any cars underneath or a danger of falling onto someones house I don't bother with. no monster tree's or owt like that.. just your communal garden variety of tree thats in the way shadin a garden... no need to worry I'm takin money out your pocket..
  7. Errm did you now.. cause I'm not so sure you mean't to say that.. I think you was gonna say device but had a change of heart at the last minute.. lets look at the evidence shall we.. ............As has been pointed out, there are simpler, lighter, probably cheaper and most importantly, mid line attachementable (not a real word) ways of doing it............... why would something be cheaper if you was suggesting a stub..
  8. I do have insurance but I'm not goin to loler anything.. I do that myself.. its worked up till now at least.. and seein as I'm not interested in doing massive jobs I don't suppose I need government regulations dictating what I can and can't do...
  9. He's a tree surgeon/arborist.......... I don't imagine he has any experience in pitching product..
  10. Stubs was better... though not exactly a device is it...
  11. Is it mid line de-tachable?.. anyway.. what are the mid line de tachable devices.. you speak of..
  12. LOL........ whats with the LOL's. you think everything has to be done by some rule book.. a lot of people use their old ropes as rigging lines for light rigging don't they.. we have one side goin on about it being shiny and new, and now some goin on about something being old and beaten up.. you can't win can you.. I think its worth reminding people that the fella who made this device has forty years tree work experience under his belt.. I'm sure he knows what he's doin..
  13. Well obviously I have to go off the word of the fella who invented the device and Blairglenn who has endorsed it.. I can't speak for the inventor but Blair is certainly much more successful than you.. I'll take his endorsement over your infantile rebuke...
  14. Obviously I ain't gonna buy one am I..... I posted up the vid because I thought others might be interested in it. I'm sure if I did trees all the time I'd give it some serious consideration though.. its robust, and does the job.. can't ask for more..
  15. I don't think its pointless, its just one more way of doing something..
  16. It wont be long winded, its a single ninja chop in the dead of night...
  17. Well seein as for the most part I do the odd tree and don't actually do them that often its more of buzz because of the danger involved and the mental workout figuring it all out.. But yes, thats what I've done in the past.. lowered a branch, natural crotch rigging, climbed down to untie then back up again.. I don't mind because I don't care how long it takes.. not to mention its always good practice...
  18. Putting aside the larger circumference bollard on it, and the fact you have more friction by adding more wraps.. its just one more tool that people can use in tree work.. It's not a matter of one tools advantage over the other, its just the way some people like to work.. and what tools they like to use.. Like Blairglenn says, theres two dozen ways to get a job done.. for me, the fact the rigging device is up in the tree is why I like the idea.... I'm a one man band so that would suit me.. horses for courses..
  19. Shiny or not it looks useful.. Reg coats uses a rope wrench for light rigging.. my thoughts were he or others might be able to use this gizmo for heavier loads.. Its certainly the sort of thing I'd have if I was doin tree's regular..
  20. Look, I was enjoying reading through this thread.. insults an all.. but some things go beyond the pale.. Just an aside, people call me a troll, accuse me of ruining threads.. Yet no one mentions the fella who ruined two threads in just a week, Joe Newton.. the only mitigation in his favor is he was trying in some cack handed manner to grab forestboys attention.. I suspect havin taking drink..
  21. Came across this a few months back but didn't give it much thought at the time.. but after watching a couple of vids from arboristBlairglenn this evening it caught my eye once more.. what seeing as riggings been in vogue on a couple of recent threads..... Anyway, I thought I'd post it up.. see what you think.. In case anyones interested heres his web site... https://www.mcdermottsropebrake.com/our-product/ BlairGlenn showcasing it...
  22. Matty Like it, you and pete Mctree laughed at it.. I'd only seen your contribution so I really ought rope them in for some bile as well... anyone adding anything to that wants talking about... disgusted..
  23. Never the less, your post about Forestboys wife was disgusting... as was Tommy the prick endorsing it.. you should be ashamed of yourselves..
  24. I do wonder sometimes if it would be as well to have a grab wagon instead of a chipper tipper set up My friend runs about six of em.. my plan was to use his grab wagon to move tree's if its to much for me an the truck.. van..
  25. Well I'm never comfortable talking about these sort of things myself, I tend to see that as bit low brow, undignified if you will.... what with me being an ex good christian an all.. anyways,. no doubt the the blonde one was being forewarned to prepare herself as that was the girth of the monster...
