  1. I think we've all been to the magistrates Ratman, I've been several times over the yrs.. typical shite, drunk and disorderly car tax insurance and girlfriend problems.. we've all done it. me included.. mostly in my twenties to be honest..
  2. Doing what exactly?...
  3. I do believe its called Karma.... not that I agree with him mind. he might of saved some money by representing himself.. If I ever end up in court its what I intend to do.. I always represented myself at the magistrates, not that it ever did me any good. but I did save some money at the time on a solicitor...
  4. Sure I could completely ban Vesp, or he can come back and adhere to what is considered socially acceptable. Steve Bullman..

  5. Listen fkface, unless you're a regular keep your fuckin opinions to yourself you cum guzzling piece of shit..
  6. is that a tractor pin...
  7. Well if she has the dogs they'd of asked her to give a statement later in the day.. be easier to take your friend away as he's not got a dog to think of and he's the one with the gun..
  8. Damn it man, you asked what we thought.. thats what I think might have happened.. Would explain him being arrested.. not sayin this woman hasn't lied but they haven't taken her to to be interviewed have they?..
  9. Perhaps your friend threatened to shoot the dogs or the woman to get the ladies attention.. maybe she was being slovenly in reacting to the unfolding situation.. Perhaps she took him at his word to shoot the dog and called the police just in case he went through with the threat... Whats puzzling is why the cops took your mate away.. I imagine they'd of listened to both sides of the story and let both parties leave after calm had been restored.. makes one wonder if your friend isn't giving the full story..
  10. I price jobs by the square mtr.. not exactly, I price a job like most people with a brain.. I look, see whats involved and figure what its worth and what my competition might charge if they're bein reasonable.. you know, just like you do.. its not rocket science, its a simple equation than anyone can do, even you...
  11. It ain't working at all.. cause I don't exactly make a living doin tree's.. but if I did then, well we could try that to get shut of the competitions couldn't we?...
  12. Your wrong because you're talking about two different things... We're talking about the things you do to earn a living, not a job you don't make a living at... I wouldn't do a two hundred foot dead leaning oak over a raging river for a million, but perhaps you might. And don't kid yourself, everytime you turn up to price a job theres a price band rattling around in your head.. even if its a tiny head with not much goin on inside it otherwise..
  13. I don't agree with this at all.. When you come upon a job I see a price band.. the lowest you're willing to work for, and the highest you would take off the job if given the opportunity to charge high.. For instance, if you'd accept payment of hundred quid on a slow day, theres no way you'd charge a thousand on a busy week.. even if you didn't like the customer. you'd just know you'd gone from getting a bonus to being a thief..
  14. Yes, but people would get to know that I was very cheap, and that would have the effect of crashing the tree market for my competition.. they stuck with expensive equipment, me waiting on their call..
  15. My gut reaction was that this was someone posting a windup thread.. and even it is, so what, we've had a good run out of it.... ?
  16. They'd come back to me.. Cause I'd be doin em for 100.. I've decided such is your intransigence and nitpickyness, I'm gonna rum my competition out of town...
  17. No you've obviously missed my point.. Most people look at a tree job and figure a price, we come to a consensus that its worth 150.. Thus you'd be charging that amount.. If you decided that you'd undercut the value to get the job then its you who's losing money on the job by twenty quid.. I'd be getting the going rate and thus be better off than you.. And yes, 150 for day just now would be just fine.. my philosophy on life is to have a work life balance.. I live frugally that my time can be spent doin what I want and not what I have to, to make money...
  18. Your not kidding, exactly the point I've been making... And I don't need to be making anything like a tree firm makes.. chopping tree's is a hobby of sorts. not really interested in getting into production..
  19. Haven't I made a point about this.... you wont be cheaper than me at all.. I'd like to think I'd charge as much as you for a job.. were you might gain on me is speed.. you'd be on the next job as I was a quarter way through the same job... but we'd hopefully get the same money for the same job.. You'd make more money in a week, but I'd be happy as I don't give a monkeys if you did.. its not how fast you can do it, or the equipment and plant you have to hand.. its how much should a job be reasonably priced all variables considered.. only after the price has been ascertained does the speed of operation come into play.. IE you can do it faster and be home sooner.. or onto the next job.. As I don't give a toss how long a job takes I'm no worse off than you..
  20. hahahha got me there... anyways, I watch enough Utube vids on tree choppin I'm as near as damn it an arborist.. ?
  21. I wont even ask what a triple negative is.. you do realize you're on a arborist forum right?. and anyone with a bit of common sense could tell what I was saying..
  22. No, I was saying they were.. perhaps your a little confused by the drink..
  23. I don't need to google to figure a con job when I see one...
  24. Nope ripped off good style.. And I don't buy this shit about overheads.. plant and equipment are bought to increase efficiency of operation.. get the job done quicker so as to move on to the next one.. Job A should cost X amount of money. company with expensive equipment makes their money by being able to do job A faster, and at reduced cost if they're good.. ex... twenty foot tree to be chopped.... A, has an axe, horse an cart.. B has a chainsaw and chipper and truck.. Tree is fifty quid job... A takes all day to fell and take away.. B is there ten minutes... B gets to do twenty jobs a day.. meanwhile A is gettin fifty.. for same day.. The problem with this job is that A wants the same money as B for the same days work and he does that by cheating the ill informed...
  25. I obviously know what ripped off means.. trouble is others don't seem to.. confusing a legally binding contract with being ripped off... With the best will in the world I can't see how this job wasn't one were the customer hasn't been ripped off.. and royally.. a middling tree and a couple of midget tree's, thieving bastards...
