  1. I couldn't pick three out if I tried.. its better to describe the sort of films I like.. The hero's journey... love a bit of overcoming the odds being mocked and rising out of adversity to claim redemption.. a couple of films that had more than the usual impact.. Spartacus, Star wars, shawshank, Jaws, oh brother were art though.. the matrix.. could be here all day... Oh, and the Passion of the Christ.. love a good Jesus film.. classic example of a hero's journey... a couple of honorable mentions.. Lawrence of Arabia.. Ben Hur, the Matrix..
  2. looks good Ratman.. was thinking of doin some myself for my wild camping expeditions...
  3. As a hobby tree cutter my rule of thumb is do dodgy tree's by inches... never use a chainsaw until I absolutely must... it would be bad enough if somethin broke but fk that when a chainsaw is buzzing round my neck.. I agree with Mr Bolam as well.. who cares if you don't fancy doing a job.. if it don't feel right move on.. you ain't impressing anyone from an hospital bed... havin said that I'd winch that fker over if I had the gear to do it.. or call in Buckin billy, he'd know what to do....?
  4. as it happens some builders I know owe me money, have done for a yr or two now.. often I think to go round and set fire to their vans and beat em down some for a bonus.. but I don't do that cause it ain't worth the hassle.. just don't do owt for em again.. not to mention every time I bump into em they have to avert my gaze lest they make eye contact, they don't seem to appreciate that I can tell you .. its almost worth them owing me money to be honest.. And if you can't build a slush fund then I suggest they get out the business and find other employment.. as this kind of work ain't for em.. everyone knows how easy it is to get stiffed in that game... And yea its brought late payment into the spotlight. but do you think anything will be done?. I don't.. we've been here before many times.... its in the nature of the work and subcontracting.. be prepared is the watchword in that game... nothin is gonna change because its a fluid environment that calls for flexibility by all sides...
  5. I'm not ready to pass j This fella might of brought the topic into public debate but at what cost?.. most people will imagine builders are a bunch of lunatics.. or criminally insane.. Not exactly a good advertisement for the thousands of builders who haven't run amok with a mini digger.. Builders aught take a leaf out of my book.. build yourself a slush fund for a rainy day... any builder with any sense would do that as a priority..
  6. I expect he will get a fair hearing as it happens.. I'm not without some sympathy for the fella's situation myself... but we can't have people running amok on account of them losing their marbles for ten minutes... what next, a builder short changed a tenner and sets fire to a hundred million project to get his own back?.. a hospital bulldozed to the ground because a mans wife died through malpractice by an incompetent surgeon... were does it end?.. Best to come down hard on this sort of vandalism before it spreads to every other knuckle head out there.. give him fives yrs to reflect on his behavior.. and a warning to others like him..
  7. twenty men stood around like lemons.. its official, Britain a nation of cowards...
  8. Well openness not seen that one mentioned or if I have it slipped my notice.. what do others get wrong?, well I ain't a country, frog, bird or TV series..
  9. The triumph is it got it right for once... And, why would I use one word when ten would do?...
  10. Argentinian.... good thing to as its about right.. in that I'm apparently big on openness.. willing to take on new idea's.. Its a good virtue to have according to Jordan Peterson.. that'll do me.
  11. I wish I was the judge when he comes up.. max sentence all the way.. we don't have small claims courts for nothing.. the fella is a moron.. .
  12. Forest rangers warn public at risk from Montron 4....
  13. I suppose wrapping rope round your legs would count as added friction.. if it worked in a pinch for the odd emergency... err not calling anyone in particular a numpty, as such, but you know as I know there are those out there that are. as it happens I rigged my zigzag up in SRT as an experiment just a few foot off the ground.. couldn't lower myself at all as it was stuck with all the weight pulling down.. I wish I'd thought to use my legs or feet as an added friction method, might of worked out better if I did.. not that I fancied doing that fifty foot up a tree mind.....
  14. I'm sure it has, as has society inspired conventions..
  15. I should imagine all these wee chippers are much of a muchness,, a carcass a blade connected to two bearings.. a shoot long enough that you can't reach the blade with your arms and thats about it.. The only real issue being quality control on the production line..
  16. I wont be replying to any vulgar posts in future so if you want to engage keep it clean...
  17. Did I say you were a numpty to use the rope wrench with a zigzag?.. No.. I did say I might get one myself for the same purpose.. my point was people might think the zigzag was capable of being used SRT without the rope wrench, or the chicane.. theres always some out there.. no doubt explains some of the broken zigzags..
  18. No I implied there might be some numpties who get hold of it and use it for SRT without the knock off rope wrench.. thinking it might not come with said knock off and that being sold separately... Seemed clear as day to me..
  19. Its what I said isn't it?.. though if it comes with the knock off rope wrench I'm sure it won't get the abuse by the retard faction out there... Stubby, I already own the mk3.. still looks in brand new condition mind.. I might get a rope wrench to use it SRT as it can double up as a lowering device...
  20. No doubt its been heavily overly engineered on account theres gonna be some complete half wits who'll attempt to use it without the other bit that goes with it..
  21. I'm scratching my head as I can't recall any bullshit I ever posted.. or anything original you said...
  22. Good advice, and its made me reconsider the electronics.. I don't fancy carrying the extra weight...
  23. I wish people would stop mocking Utube.. its a great resource for learning... or researching items of interest.. I want to buy a chainsaw guess what I do, I look on Utube at reviews.. I want to know the current thinking on how the universe came into existence I look at Utube for the science.. At the moment I'm planning on a micro adventure hiking in the hills and moors in the Lakes, been on Utube researching equipment to lower my pack weight. I might even film my miniature expedition and put it on Utube.. Thats something else I've bin considering, starting up my own Utube channel..
  24. Arrested for comedy...
