Yeah humbolt upside down gob,try it on the small stuff to practice as its not always good on taking off big tops as it pushs on the stem hard as it falls over and can result in a rodeo derby for the climber-ie you get shaken about a lot.Time and experience will get you to where you want too be mate. Couple of things i clocked,you cut around neck height a couple of times,weve had a death in the arb industry recently due to a kickback in the neck.Please cut in lower in corrilation to your body or spike up higher to cut. I noticed you got the bar pinched a couple of times when choggin down the stem,u had a wedge-why not use it. You can drill a little hole in the wedge and attach some throwline to it and the other end to your harness so you cant drop it. When knocking off tops or sections i find a humbolt is easier to encourage the section to go over,i seen you had problems pushing sections over with your face cut. Dont take it personal just my observations,but please be careful and stop cutting at neck height. Ppe and the stuff mentioned above too but u know that now. Ok just got round to watching this and although i enjoyed watching reg- its not for me. Maybe 50 foot up with a decent view of the deck with no targets under me fine,but 80 foot plus and your rope on your back,i wouldnt do it. I wouldnt have a go at anyone who does this though,as experienced climbers we know the inheriant risks involved. As for rescue climber,in the real world we know self rescue is best,regardless of what HSE say. This is my opinion and reading the previoys replys others dont agree. To each his own.

FR Jones Chainsaw Sale: Stihl MS 261 vs Husq 550XP

I use a 261 on 16" bar most days,its the newer cm models,great saws no issues,plenty of grunt. I used a husky 560xp just the other day and it flew,absolute demon of a saw.More power than the 550 but i dont know of the lifespan of the 560 or if theyre problematic. -

Hi folks,Had our kits lolered yesterday and had a failure with a dmm oval biner due to a "soft lock". Any loler guys fancy giving me the explination to that one. Ive tried the biner and its seems fine to us,all triple locks functioning fine id say.The biner was on my side strop,so it does get used a lot. We dont get to speak to our loler inspector so im perplexed on this one. Thanks in advance.

HSE say a rescue climber should be on site if aerial tree operations are to take place. Ive solo work climbed,im a adult,i know the risks. Id say its up to the individual to assess the situation. Havent watched the vid yet,still to catch up with August hunicke"s latest.sorry Reg-i ll check yours next

I got the vertex vent perspex vizor,supposed to be scratch proof-it aint and its shite in the wet. It lasted a week,back to goggles or a mesh visor when chipping.

Yes-most suppliers sell a kit,helmet,visor and eardefenders.If your using a chipper id recommend sordin eardefenders for good protection

Husky technical helmet is by far the most robust ground helmet ive had.we use the petzl vertex vent with sordin eardefenders for climbing. Being a council monkey we need to have 2 helmets as recommended by the bellends at HSE. If your lookin at gettin into climbing just get the petzl. Its a good lid

I dont bother,biggest rip off goin in arboriculture imo. The chainbrake protects your hand in the event of a kickback,your trigger hand is protected by the handle guard and the chain catcher stops the chain coming back at your hand in the event of a derail... As an added bonus much of these gloves are made of goat leather...lovely soft stuff that when it gets wet is slippery as #@*#. You need a pair for ground chainsaw courses but thats it. Sorry mate rant over
