  7. They dont lock up or dont need sinching or fannyin around. They work on all rope types and most diameters. Maybe u are tight...
  8. Im of the same opinion, ive plenty of rope off cuts kickin around the lockup i could use but for loler purposes it is to be replaced by the petzl rope. Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Cheers Timon,i fancied the zillon a while back but plumed for the positioner instead, just didnt fancy payin the money to get the zillon lanyard replaced if it got overly worn.Bit cheeky by petzl imo, grillon was the same if i remember. Like you,my flipline lies practically redundant now but i dont do many big stems that would merit it. I use a 5 meter strop that is always been enough for the trees i encounter. 14. I havent found that steve,i rate the positioner highly,id be interested to hear your problems with the swivel. I dont climb every day though so i dont use it as often as some would.
  15. I see a theme here, cocker=madness! The lady wifes a dog walker with 3 spaniels on her books,2 sprockers and a show cocker. The brother in law has a welsh springer and we used to have a border collie so were well aware of the madness thats about too ensue. Thanks for all your comments She's a little cracker,of course she's mental
  16. Id say pretty much across the board mate,we do like order...no one forms an orderly queue quite like we do Serious answer is no we bleedin hate hse,but theyre here so what can you do
  17. Got the art positioner with the swivel on 5 metre new england dragonfly. As will said its very smooth. You can get a cam for the positioner to use on wirecore flipline
  18. Looks like a arolla pine (pinus cembra). Arollas have leaves born in groups of five if that helps
  19. I still struggle sometimes with the legalities regarding tree's. I can only imagine how it could be a nightmare to navigate if i were a novice.

  22. Thanks gary, great point to highlight.
  23. All the gear no idea is another that springs too mind
  24. No not all trees are subject to preservation orders. If you have a tree that has branches overhanging a neighbours garden then you can remove the offending branches but you can only cut back to the boundrey line and legally you must give back the arisings(cut branches) to the owner of the tree as they are his/her property. Trees can cause all sorts of problems between neighbours and id strongly recommend that people consult with each other so the tree benefits from professional pruning techniques. If a tree is on council property then the council and or local tree officer must be consulted before any work commences. There are usually council data bases online that you can check if a tree is under a presevation order. A few other things too look out for are conservation areas and SSSI's. SSSI is a site of specific scientific interest and again is protected.
  25. Tickets are sometimes a double edged sword ya know. Some employers look at a person with tickets as a higher wage bill. I use a guy as groundie sometimes when i sub,hes no qualifications but he can run the ground work no issues, hes never pinched a saw yet has no tickets,he can run rigging and i dont have to keep an eye on him when im up the tree, experience is important too. As simonm said above work ethic is the first thing that gets noticed. Good luck mate hope you do well
