  7. Advise too remove larch and cypess and replant summit they like. Arsing around with those trees will do nowt but make em look stupid and compromise theyre health.

  9. I bought a rope grab off ebay some years back,kinda a cheap chinese rip off of the rock exotica ones. Cant bring myself to use it,just couldnt trust it. If its non ppe fine but with life support equipment i would avoid chinese copies.

  13. Not if you make a large loop (eye).Same goes for a doubled rope figure 8 knot.

My advice to you is go down south,seriously there are very limited oppertunities for young arborists in Scotland,espescially the central belt unless you stumble across a council position which are very rare. You will learn more by being in employment with a company in England as they can get continious work,in Scotland most companies arent busy for tree work in the winter months. Seriously go down south mate.

  20. I havent tried thr harness but maybe if you stopped getting razzle magazines and done redtube instead you could afford the harness in no time. .

  22. Hmmm... long term id agree mark but you would get a decade out of those two side by side with regular pruning.
  23. Had the same issue with a holly tree a while back. We were issued a work order to remove a "Jaggy bush" turned out to be a little holly tree...didnt end well for the tree though as the tenant was adament about removal. Nice to see some people are keen to retain trees though steve
