  1. Yip i can see why she didnt want to be part of the debate. To be fair to her she came across as exactly what she is -an odious, lying, back tracking cretin.
  2. Buy cheap buy twice imo... then again the new stihl 201 breaks alot but is the guts of 500 notes.
  3. I use the ear plugs, muffs are a pain in the ass when climbing but fine for ground work.If your main concern is ear protection the sordin eardefenders are very good.
  4. As ive said ive little experience in this but id be intetested in the maintenance program and results.Would perhaps be a great thread if rrgular visits to the tree are your intention. Keep us posted mate
  5. Hi gary im by no means an expert on this and i have very little experience in transplanting trees but i was led to believe the first 1 year is critical due to the ratio of leaves to feeder roots, obviously a loss of some feeder roots will prevent a flow of nutrients to the leaf. What age was the tree when replanted and how long ago was it planted?
  6. Any chance of a wee link to a relevant vid matty. Very interested to see those
  7. Im scottish,im tight by nature, you'll never convince me joe:001_tongue:
  8. I thought twice about the price of the tm but jesus 340 notes for a harness...how can you justify that price? We drive vans not lambo's
  9. Thanks for sharing that matty and i get what your saying, although i think in a multi anchor riggin scenario the weight cannot be equally shared as the first anchor will always be subjected to a higher impact force than the second. Ive had instances where ive pushed the limits of my equipment and by luck or whatever ive gotten away with it. Its difficult to give any difinitive answers where riggin is involved as its usually specific to that situation ie the forces involved, the type of tree being cut and a whole host of variables. Experience and a bit of luck will save most of us from what happened to you that day. Squeaky bum mate
  10. Ive been fannying around with srt of late and i was thinking the same thing.I like the idea of the pinto prussik, would i be right in thinking this can be installed from the ground... It is in my head but my head has been proved wrong before. I ll be watching this thread with great interest
  11. By the amount of posts and people posting on this thread id say its totally validated.I woyld comment that there are some who repeat the same thing over and over perhaps to wind others up but if you dont want to read it dont click on.
  12. Im not blaming the tories mate, the blame lies squarely with the people making bombs and murdering people. My point is were on high alert, another attack and possibley more after could be imminent, are we ready to deal with these attacks? No of course not,we cant as we dont know how where or when these attacks will take place, but we could be in a much better position if we had more police,a strong, and more robust nhs,but we havent have we. Weve listened to tories since 2010 promise us all kinds of things and been let down or blatantly lied to. We need to start at the people in power and hold them responsible for making the emergency responces jobs a lot harder as this attack has exposed there inadiquises.
  13. What this terrorist act also highlights is the pressure it placed upon the surrounding hospitals and emergency services. The torys are systematicly dismantling the NHS to a point where it cannot cope with large scale incidents such as this. There are less armed police officers on our streets than there were 5 years ago even though Theresea May promised more police in 2016. We need to invest in our emergency services not devalue them by cuts.
  14. The Tree Hunter ? Health and safety has gone out of the window.... Amey having a good week...
  15. 25° up here in glasgow, thank god im not wearing chainsaw trousers today, just moving around is uncomfotable.
  16. This latest attack is a game changer for me.Attacking kids... i have no words to describe how utterly despicable it is. My faith in my fellow man, religion aside,is gone. I just dont trust muslims anymore..i feel saddend at this
  17. Airline should be enough to get most of it off,the hardend stuff can be removed in a petrol bath.
  18. Do your 150-spuds the man for that
  19. If you didnt feel anything when it got punctured thats worrying.Perhaps an accident in the van when driving, either way i think your right-its not fit for purpose. Hope it wasnt too expensive
  20. What happened there steve...looks like a tree hugging snipers took a potshot at you with a .22 rifle
  21. Dunno how old this thread is but the jacket looks good rich, hope it lasts.Good luck in norway beautiful country mate
  22. Cheers mark Ive been havin a play around with srt lately, not used it in a working capacity just fannying around. I got a loan of rw but it seemed overly long for me with the zigzag.I used a bolt and nut through the eye of the zigzag to keep the tether in place.Your setup definetly looks better. To be honest i cant be arsed with the redirects,id only use srt for reaching the canopy in big trees the switch to ddrt for working.
  23. What size of tether do you find works best with the zz mark? You could have put your toys away before takin that picture ya know
