  1. I havent tried thr harness but maybe if you stopped getting razzle magazines and done redtube instead you could afford the harness in no time. .
  2. Crackin little yorky nikk, keep up the good work wth him. Congrats mick on rehoming a dog.Fantastic Hope you both have a long fun adventurous tkme together
  3. Hmmm... long term id agree mark but you would get a decade out of those two side by side with regular pruning.
  4. Had the same issue with a holly tree a while back. We were issued a work order to remove a "Jaggy bush" turned out to be a little holly tree...didnt end well for the tree though as the tenant was adament about removal. Nice to see some people are keen to retain trees though steve
  5. Contact sam at bearvalley.Top produce at reasonable prices.
  6. Red pfanners on wet climbs, thick red pfanners in winter and bare hands in warmer months. Got to build up those man callouses. If you build your callouses up enough you cant feel its your own hand when jiveing your man sausage..bonus!
  7. Too move whilst aloft in the tree you gently tug the prussik whilst your wright is on it.This will move the prussik and you down the rope on a descent.Take your time and get used to the feel of descent before you go nuts and descend quick. There are some tutorials on youtube which are great for the basics.Look up the climbing arborist on youtube for fantastic videos and tips.
  8. Seen a couple of ash just starting to leaf lastnight.
  9. Thats a shitty thing to happen to anyone mate. One of our lads was doing a hedge job as a favour for his sister inlaw,he was sat in his van eating his roll when a cheeky bastard opened the back door lifted out the blower and disapeared up a tenement close. The lad got out to givr chase but it was a secure entry..bye bye blower. Bold as f@#!
  10. Ok now u need to give us the shitty firewood poem
  11. Anyone seen any ash trees in leaf yet.The buds seem to welded shut up here in Glasgow.Everything else is in full leaf now except ash, just wondered if its the same down south.
  12. Good service from skyland mark. Eat all the sweets, cant have the kids getting diabetis. Its good parenting
  13. Sordin eardefenders are really good.Grey ones are chipper rated. You could wear plugs under your current ear muffs, bit cheaper than gettin new sordins. What ear protection are you using currently if your getting ringing in your ears
  14. If you cant quote a simple job or work out how to quote a simple job like that maybe you shouldnt be in the industry mate. No offence meant but you post a lot of questions on these pages asking for advice or help but ive yet too see you help or advize anyone else. I learned how to quote by experience and i under quoted jobs as im sure you will too,its all part of learning how to run a business.
  15. Have you tried marlow boa ? I found it too be good but a little too graby at times.Ive been told Teufelberger eye to eyes are decent but ive little experience with them personally
  16. Yeah u will get a good bit of sit back with the VT but playing around with wraps and braids should get you to perfect your own setup. Once your setup is right its a beautiful thing. If you get a chance try the zigzag....fantastic piece of kit
  17. Ive had some experience with the hc setup and i ended up using a knut, its similar to the distel so your eye to eye should be long enough.I found the distel would bite hard,i was using malow hitch cord so it could be that was the issue. The vt takes a bit more tending in my experience but u could do a vt just with less braids if your cord isnt long enough.Hitch climber does take a bit of faffing around to match cord to the rope you are using. I started using the zigzag after a couple of weeks on hitch climber and quickly stopped using it in favour of the zigzag
  18. Damn site easier than hip thrusting...
  19. I have some spare equipment, dmm triple attachment pulley, teufel berger eye to eye hitch cord and a pantin foot ascender i could give you for a decent price-under 50 quid anyway. The eye to eye is new and unused the pulley is not lolered but in nearly new condition and the pantin is used but works great. Pm me if ur interested mate
  20. Would be tight gettin a hitch climber set up for 50 quid. A foot ascender works with a prussik fine, just be sure to load the prussik before you take your weight of the ascender. Im not sure what you mean by is an ascender weight bearing? If you mean can it be used as life support ie the piece of equipment thats keeping you in the tree then no. Life support must be by your rope/prussik or hitch.
  21. First you have to find a virgin, then a ripe toad.... Next you have too wring the toad out until all its secretions have been gathered up in a vessel. Daub those toad secretions on your burn and chant loudly "All hail the toad All hail the toad" guarenteed it ll be gone by sunrise next day. Oh what about the virgin you ask well i just added that bit for a laugh....
  22. And heres me thinkin i was pretty tactful with that one
  23. Is this your ms 230 again, jeez id bin that pos and get a different saw. Oh and exhausts do get very very hot...so dont be tempted to lick it..
  24. Stihl br700 backpack blower is solid and reliable
  25. Clearly the nation that fella hails from has no issues with the theft of arb equipment.Cant imagine him emptying that amount of kit out everynight..
