  1. Nooooooooooooh.....dont do it. Seriously ive got one and its below average... infact if im entirely honest its crap. Its difficult to start, its overly heavy for its power ratio, the guidebar is made of paper mache and most irritating is the oil top up resevoir is right under the side handle making it a pain in the arse to carry a combi spanner to open it. Seriously dont do it... 180 quid wasted. Stihl 180/181 ahem
  2. Dont like the saw hanging on the strop ring cause the chain catch's on my cutting trousers(ive only got little legs)so its bounces off the backs of my knees.Dont like it dangling at full strop length cause im constantly pulling it up and down to cut and its difficult moving around tighter canopies without the fecker gettin caught in unions or summit. Just a wee pet peeve of mine
  3. Yeah ive done that more than a couple of times,i just dont like it dangling on my harness unless its at the full length of the strop...which is also a pita to pull up to cut all the time.
  4. I know its bad practice but i put the 150 side handle onto a gateless caritool, dunno if its the small or medium caritool but its defo not the large
  5. Stihl 180/181,bullet proof little saws, good power to weight ratio and very simple to sort if owt goes wrong(rarely happens in my experience) Dont touch a husky 135...its 180 quid for a reason.
  6. News report said a neck injury,we can only speculate at this point as too how it occured. Terrible news, best wishes to his crew and family.
  7. I live in the central belt of Scotland, climb for my local authority (Try not too judge-were hard working guys) and subby for some companies.I find the larger companies have guys all year round but the landscapers and gardeners who get the odd tree job pay better. These are the guys i tend to get work from although its sporadic and mostly in the spring/summer . The oppertunities lie down south,i see adverts for climbers in England all the time.
  8. As i read this thread one question comes too mind... What was this thread originaly about again..?? lol
  9. Luuuuvley...ah hahahaha. Es r good Es r good hes ebeneezer good Man i feel old right now
  10. Obviously its not for experienced climbers who are confident spiking up with a flipline or lanyard but for a relativley new climber it might help.
  11. Lol yeah was just an example of a top anchor point on a pole to allow for quick descent in a 'i need a cuppa' scenario.
  12. Ive used a multi anchor before aswell as cambium saver
  13. Text message is not a reasonable first point of contact to to report absence to an employer. A phone call is.
  14. Im game...who's bringing the...ahem... disco biscuits ahem..?
  15. Choke a cambium saver or sling and biner around the stem and run your rope through that so you can descend quick if an accident happens. You have to move the cambium saver/sling up as you go up the tree though..which is a bit of a pain. On connies i really doubt you would fall straight down with a rope and prussik round the stem, more likely to twist and catch you on the rough bark imo
  16. Again your trying to dodge the question ive put too you twice,so for a third time how do you know Isis target christians? Clearly all other proof points to them targeting anyone in the west from any religious denomination.
  17. Matelot i dont hold a personal grudge and i believe everyone has a right to voice there opinion but it seems when you views are challenged through intelligent dialogue you change the subject. Explain to me how you know Isis have a policey to target christians in a jihad.
  18. Many arab nations "hate" Isreal and the jews,as do many muslims. Whats your point? We were discussing your Isis policy of targeting christians..not jews
  19. Is this an Isis policey that has been published? Are you privey to insider Isis information now? Just repeating the same claptrap doesnt make it true or more believable you know.
  20. Ive no idea what fake news is and i dont care, sounds like a buzzword to me that has no relevance in this instance. Who Isis target and who they actually kill and maime are 2 entirely seperate things. As ive said many religions have lost people due to jihadist attacks not just christians,Isis dont care what religion, colour or the nationality of the people they kill its purley to get there jihadist agenda publicity-its that simple. If they were targeting christians why havent any christian houses of worship been attacked? Are you saying all the people at the France football game were white christians? Yet Isis tried to bomb that stadium As for watching the news,if you believe everything your told in the news then your more guliable than you sound. All the news channells are owned by corporations who are run by people who will report there own "version" of the news to suit there own agenda and political preferences.
  21. Muslims are not attacking christians but attacking indiscriminately, many muslims have been killed as many other religions have lost people due to jihady attacks. Lets not confuse conjecture with facts
  22. I agree we in europe do have a problem with jihad terrorism but it doesnt make me think banning all muslims into the UK is the answer. I dont claim to know the answers but im scepital of yours.
  23. Would one like some sauted swan....??
  24. Didnt tony blair and co roll out some experts to say Iraq had wmd's only to find none. The internet is awash with "experts" claiming one thing or another. Infact im sure i could dig up some expert to say im the queen and my wife is an alien but that doesnt make it so does it. My point is matelot, myself and many others arent going to believe this just because you've quoted it.
  25. Thats a no no my good man, limes and some maples yes
