  1. Yeah 441's great saw as is the older 440
  2. Hi steve,i use a 150 a lot infact i prefer it to the 201,i have to say ive never had this problem either with sharpening the chain or it veering off in the cut. Is your 150 modded? The reason i ask is perhaps the added power means the chain cant cut quick enough to keep up with revolutions of the engine giving an uneven cut. Just a thought.. Id be interested to hear what silky says about his 150,i know he uses it often.
  3. Why is this relevant to this thread..
  4. Working for my local authority ive seen first hand their idea of 'remove and replace',remove a 20 year old beech from a park and replace by planting a row of alders as a windbreak...seriously. It at least should be the same species imo but on the outside the council can say "We replace every tree removed blah blah. In this case,to me,its just 3 birch next to a farm, top, remove whatever the client wants, all we can do is advise and take it from there.
  5. Sit on top of the power unit so its between your thighs, lean over the guide bar and sharpen away. Those log vices are overated..
  6. Ive never had earplugs fall out when im climbing...ever..and ive tried several types and brands. Good qualiry earplugs are better protection than eardefenders,as said above safety specs come in all types with different attachments, neck bands or longer legs over your ears so they dont fall off when u look down. You might have to accept that convenience aint gonna do it for you and your gonna have to shop around, trial and error to get what you need. No one said being a little person was easy.... I say this too my wife a lot when shopping for jeans...
  7. For what its worth i think you did the right thing buying the kit off him.
  8. Are you sure those trees are 10 meters tall? They certainly dont look it by the picture. Im almost certain removing them wont cause any heave. Only an on site inspection would be decisive.
  9. Hi Susan,My advice would be too get a reputable arborist near you to come out and survey the trees and take it from there. Its almost impossible to give any real advice without at least some detailed pictures. In most instances heave is not an issue just a word banded around by insurers. Good luck
  10. 261 or 441 covers most situations, then the 66 for the big stuff.
  11. Nice video, great chuckin techniques espescially the one that lands right in front of the chipper. But most of all my full respect for climbing on that bloody awful 13mm marlow gecko rope
  12. Are you really trying to say that 44.7% voted for independance simply because they disliked the english? That really is rediculous... The truth is a high percentage of scots have different political views than the english.
  13. Everyone shouts in scotland its how you communicate whilst wearing a kilt, killing a haggis and chewing a deep fried mars bar ...oh and were ginger and thats right were all anti english too Just a hint of sarcasm
  14. Oh dear you've started it now.... Sounds a bit like national stereotyping my good man. Were not all moaning faced gits you know
  15. Our 880 lies doin sod all,ive never came across anything that the 66 cant handle.
  16. brilliant.. Ive got stihl x fit, good trousers but not worth the price tag. Pfanner gladiators are in ny opinion the best all rounders, good fit, hard wearing, quite light and easy to move around in-they seem to be more water resistant than others ive tried aswell. The arbortec are ok,although the lower back pad is too stiff, the front belt loops are too far apart and they always seem to slip down so i have the crotch nearer my kness-this can be fixed by wearing braces...but i hate those bloody things when climbing. My recomendation is pfanner gladiators
  17. Good idea by Dmm id say. Will save time when doing checks and at loler https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1297385323672281&id=109063352504490
  18. Keepin fit and healthy is a lifestyle not a diet. The second you say im dieting, cutting back, watching my weight your onto a loser. Your a positive guy stefan make small changes in your lifestyle and eating habits, gradually induce a disciplined training regime. Dont get caught up in weight, small things can affect your weight so dont focus on it. Try instead to take stock in how you feel and look, the weight will come down with good training and more importantly a healthy nutritional program,if your unsure hire a nutritionlist-worth it in my experience as you cant out train a bad diet. Good luck stefan 'go get it'
  19. My mrs uses a rock climbing lid with goggles and foam plugs when she's out groundying for me. Im always a sweaty mess and shes cool as a cucumber.
  20. Thank you for the correction and history lesson. The point is still the same though... christianity and islam have been goin toe to toe for a long time.
