  1. Leave the chin strap undone, until you get up the tree :-)
  2. It's the mutlitool round here for £130. I've just picked one up but it will only be used for domestic stuff.
  3. What about ebay and then relist it once the job is done?
  4. Having read the whole thread and been waiting (and probably missing) the opportunity to get a Lidl strimmer, there's a florabest multi tool strimmer, hedge cutter, lopper coming out next Monday. Think I'll have a punt for £129!
  5. If you go to NPTC website you can order an ID card with all your tickets and possibly other C&G qualifications. Fill the form out and post off with a photo, or do it all by email. £10 charge https://www.nptc.org.uk/learnerreplacementcertificate.aspx
  6. I think there's also a massive difference between one or more badly done tats and a really well drawn tattoo. You can see some real craftsmanship in some tattoos. Id really like one, but in always paranoid I'd end up a worst tattoo thread somewhere.
  7. I'm thinking of getting a new saw now rather than in a couple of months. Just in case
  8. Good to hear as I may well be going there. Need to look at kit. They provide ppe and climbing kit but not saws. Recommendations please for suitable saws to get and should I get new for the warranty etc or try and pick up second hand and hope they're all ok.
  9. Blimey Joe! Glad to hear you and your other half are ok. Shame about the truck but at least they can be replaced
  10. Waiting to hear back from Hi-Line, who seemed quite keen a few months ago in an interview, whether they can keep an opening for me for October. I'm starting to look for anyone willing to take me on from October 1st. Im willing to look at all opportunities, full time, part time, apprenticeship etc. Anyone looking for a new semi skilled member of staff in the Bristol area? CS30, 31, 38, 39, First Aid+F, B+E driving licence (pre '97), ppe, climbing kit and saws. Current CV available.
  11. The email says remove bar and chain. I assume as the saws are all going to be destroyed then they just want the bare unit. I'm keeping the bar and chain. I don't have the original box either, it will go back in whatever I can find / bodge to fit it in.
  12. I've bought it and watched most of it, some really clever ideas in there. One to watch over a few times to select what's really the best. What I really like about it is he's fairly straight up that SRT is the dog's danglies for every situation, and explains when it is good. Well worth the $40
  13. Can it be a simple 1, 2, 3 etc or is there a particular method?
  14. I sat and recorded all my stuff today and came across a slight problem. I bought a set of 5 Alpidex 3 way crabs from Germany. I can't find serial numbers in them. They have CE marks etc but no serials. Do I need to make some up and etch them in? Will that have a negative effect on their strength?
  15. Anyone know anywhere to go? Anyone fancy a climb somewhere, sometime? Not long done my 38/39 so keen to keep practicing and try new stuff out. Evenings, weeksds and odd days Cheers
  16. I was looking for info like this a few weeks ago, after reading the '5 years for textiles'. I googled and found something from Petzl saying 10 years from date of manufacture (which you get from the serial number), obviously overall condition says whether its usable or not. Kit with a hard life will wear out quicker than stuff that's looked after and hardly used. It would seem harsh to set a definite time scale on something, but I do understand that where manufacturers guidance or other info, such as date of manufacture, there needs to be some guideline.
  17. You could email them?
  18. What situations would you say one is preferable over the other?
  19. 11.7mm tachyon with a lockjack. I'm a new climber so don't listen to me
  20. It is top notch customer service. I'm looking for a new ground saw, I'll definitely be looking at which Echo is most suitable.
  21. I also see that Roland Heming is setting up an Arb+F with aerial rescue refresher, no dates on the site but you could contact them? roland heming forestry and arboricultural training and assessment
  22. Look at treekit's courses in Bournemouth. First Aid for Treeworkers | Treekit Arb Blog, Courses and Workshops
  23. That's one of the things I like about it there. It's rare nowadays to find somewhere that all you can do is relax and take in your surroundings with no fear of the outside world getting hold of you. Loving the pictures and the passion and enthusiasm.
