  1. Yes they do, and very good it is too (as is GM’s) never hurts to ask other users though. Intermittent squeaks would be difficult to diagnose over the phone I’d have thought (especially at the weekend)
  2. Split it with an axe! You’re having a giraffe. Table top hydraulic splitter, costs buttons.
  3. Speaking as someone who comes from further south, I can only say that competing against farmers with their own woods, tax deductible tractors, processors etc. plus the space to store I reckon you’re up against it. The only answer may be small logs, smaller quantities, quick deliveries. Many log burners only take 30 cm or less, and many only deliver in 1mtr lengths, lots of peeps don’t want to cut up their wood. Just my thoughts.
  4. I have had the mysterious squeak, disappears as inexplicably as it appears, always put it down to a stuck piece. Have you dropped the little plate underneath the bottom roller to clear out the drop tray?
  5. Well good luck to you! (And the dog)
  6. The Americans call it Purchase Tax which is probably a better name for it.
  7. VAT threshold in France around €32000, for what it’s worth.
  8. When cancelling/postponing tree work with clients if they get snarky I say ‘it’s waited a hundred years for me, it can wait a week longer’
  9. I had a digger for years, finally sold it last year after a decade or so (1.5tonne Takeuchi) Had nothing left on the property to do with it, it got so that every time I brought it out I had to spend the first day getting it going, lost a grand on it, not bad I thought. Definitely worth buying one if you’ve a lot to do. I just hire these days on the odd occasion I need one.
  10. You’re a norvener incha @Mark Bolam ?
  11. Don’t risk it. It will wait, better than finding yourself in a ditch, or worse.
  12. Christmas card stuff Silky. All gone here now, temperatures are up. I like it for a bit but when work gets complicated it starts to get on my tits.
  13. Never mind the tree, how come when you move the iPad around you change where you look, rather then pressing arrows on my google street view? burn the witch!
  14. Put some of the stuff on Arbtrader on here, anything nice?
  15. Probably, but when he’s the only one on the deck we don’t need a walkout!
  16. I was in minus 7 yesterday, dry but windy up top. No moaning about having to wear chainsaw trousers at the moment. Ok when you’re moving around. Waiting for the groundy to clear out a bit underneath I’m grateful the wind blows out of earshot my moaning and bitching.
  17. A quid a day? Doesn’t sound too bad.
  18. Trump made a horse’s arse of himself, for a change. https://news.sky.com/story/donald-trump-i-would-have-run-into-florida-school-shooting-unarmed-11269044
  19. Minus 9 this morning according to the wife’s car. No frost though Sunny and bright, couple of roadside oaks to do.
  20. That happened to me over here, not as much but it’s a bitter pill, nevertheless.
