  1. Well the point is you’re fighting your way through a mess of fallen down trees with a couple of tiny machines to bring out.......bits of wood. Cannot see the rationale.
  2. I’ve got that Uniforest 35m winch as well. Pulls fast and strong, but the two rope actuating mechanism is a bit Heath Robinson, But it’s the only which of this sort I’ve used so not much help really.
  3. I would take that guard off, makes life a lot easier. (Obviously be doubly sure of eye protection)
  4. Refreshments? Thirsty work rescuing people. (am drinking)
  5. Took down a big cedar recently and we had to cut it up small to handball it out of the garden. Because it’s easy to split at that size we’ve processed it and stored it in the barn. Now I know that “any dry wood will burn etc....” but does anyone here have any experience of using this stuff in a burner? doesn’t seem too sappy, splits easy enough.
  6. Surely he’s better off paying you the 120 and avoiding sick pay, holiday national insurance etc? You’re 27 years old, an accomplished climber (no reason to disbelieve that) the world is your lobster, there’s always people crying out good climbers. Leave.
  7. I wish I’d have known that before, we have a manitou/mustang dealer in my local town (Angoulême) I ended up going to a company on the other side of the country to get a Multione, pleased with the machine, not so much the service.
  8. I have no idea, and I’ve been running my own thing for over 20 years.
  9. The big saws 880 and 3120 are not a lot of fun to use. Unless you absolutely had to have the extra power go for the 661/395
  10. Best thread on the forum!
  11. Ahh, goes to show, once they’ve been done once, you have to re top them on a cycle. Good info, thanks.
  12. Nice pics on a nice day. Those pops have been topped and are being retopped. Strong attachment points by the look of it. Did you see how long since the last time? I’m guessing 15 years.
  13. Came as a bit of a shock to me after a cocker spaniel! Terrific character, live wire but can’t be trusted with clients, or their dogs and especially not cats!
  14. I know the yanks are fond of them, looks like a good machine.
  15. And yet here we have martens, polecats, stoats and weasels, hen harriers, hobbys and a myriad of other predators but no shortage of songbirds or other prey species.
  16. When you catch yourself in the mirror and see your Dad.
