  1. 02 isuzu only has 83k on it, but constantly replacing parts. So far, new fuel tank, lines, hubs, bearings, exhaust. Let's hope for an end to it soon and happy mileage
  2. Washing? Mine havnt been washed since April. But then again I never wash my jeans either and neither of them smell, or at least I don't think they do 😝
  3. So the little huskys are not bad for the money and as you guys are saying there cheap enough to last a year or so then bin off
  4. What are these dolmars from shavey you guys speak of?
  5. Just looking on the echo site, the warrants look real good on their site.
  6. Sorry to hear Henry, I'll give you a heads up tomorrow when I'm headed back with that saw for you. Think we need to spend a day down the yard beefing up security.
  7. Hopefully this will get some heads scratching and cogs whirring on a Sunday morning. I now have a burning boy out with me, (chestnut and firewood coppice) and he does his best with a billhook but I need to get a saw for him to run so he is faster. I can spare around £200 for him and have been looking at the following: New 170/180 stihl New husky 136 Second hand husky 350/262 similar Now I like the idea of buying something new and having a warranty but would I be better with a good second hand pro saw for him? This saw may also double as a carver for me, I can't let the young guys use my 550/372 just yet 😜
  8. Router a groove in both joining faces register it off the top face and insert a ply tongue. Stop the grooves short of the ends to avoid seeing it and away you go.
  9. Make a difference? I run a 13" on my 550 and it's already fast
  10. Interested in the fitment of it to the chassis and the insides, as I about to build something similar
  11. That's an awesome setup, anymore shots of the the truck and back on it?
  12. Went and looked at some wood to cut, did some shopping on the way home and now dinner infront of the fire and an early night
  13. Same here, can't remember what's my login at all
  14. Thanks Ben. I have finally got my truck temporarily fixed so hoping to get on with a back build soon
  15. Anybody got much in Kent, next few weeks? Got some spare days here and there, have 30/31 own saws, ppe, insurance and truck. Usually cutting coppice but been doing a bunch of ground work with arb guys. Happy to travel around Kent. Will
  16. Framing chisels are longer than bench chisels to allow for the larger work. Simplest set up for sharpening is 600/1200grit wet and dry. Stick some to a piece of mdf and use until it's knackered then glue on another sheet. A lot cheaper than diamond stones and does just aswell
  17. For framing bigger joints you want to aim for socket chisels so they take the abuse. For most framing joints a 1", 1.5" and 2" will do all you need including marking joints and making them. The best value new chisels are robert sorby ones, but there not a socket type, I have a few and they take the abuse. If you want to push the boat out and buy the very best then Barr make the best chisels. A straight sided chisel will have more metal and be a little stronger but a bevel edge chisel having the corner knocked off will allow a little more clearance for some joints. Also invest in a decent mallet for driving them with and some stones to keep them sharp.
  18. Been a blowing a good in here on the island since 5 with no signs of stopping. Should make for a fund day out tomorrow.
  19. How about getting somebody to set you up with making chestnut products and cutting of said product? If you want to chat about similar stuff feel free to give me a call Will 07795483802 Phones on normally 8-6 I'm based in Ashford
  20. Where abouts in Kent are you based? I would definitely be interested in buying standing timber and may be able to offer a little advice on some other uses for the timber.
  21. that a late registered 3.1 ? looks loike she's been lifted. I have the same wagon and really rate them highly. Yeah it's an 03 although it's on a 52 plate. Seems a nice truck just need to fix some bits and put it to work. It's not lifted yet I just have some taller tires on it, got plans for a 4" lift allround
  22. Finally got the truck out and running apart from endless little niggles to fix 😒
  23. Yay another fault with the truck Checked an exhaust leak to find it hanging off and find diesel pouring out the lines near the tank, ran out of light to check it fully so will look tomorrow. Am I right in thinking if I cut these to replace I need to reprise the engine somehow? Just me or are second hand vehicles an endless headache? 😜
