  1. I use stiles and bates as there local to me but they also sell online. They have a great range of movements and also if you call them the customer service is great. Axminster movements are getting better in quality now and worth a look
  2. When I got a 193 the other day it had a little fuel in the tank but no bar oil as you say.
  3. Remember thumbs around the handles and use the chain brake a lot.
  4. I left them a little long so I had plenty to stand on. But I can see where your coming from.
  5. Guys saying use rope guides? As in the ART rope guide/cambium saver? Any advantages to it over ring style?
  6. My first tree that I couldn't straight fell. Was nice to get in the tree and dismantle as I went, just a shame my saw failed so ended up using silky and my 550 for the bigger bits.
  7. The composite panels are not that cheap but make for a smart looking job. A circular saw with all type blade cuts it cleanly, just be careful of the sharp edges. And so e sign writing or vinyl over it will look great.
  8. I got mine fixed after the trigger assembly disintegrating within the first five minutes so yet to use it. Seems a nice weight and pulls better a 150
  9. Matt once I get a rope and device sorted let's go for that climb, I know some good sized trees
  10. Thanks for that info, I can see me buying both if I can stretch to it
  11. Thanks, I have been looking at endless choices of ropes and a few people have recommended the Yale hedera 11.7mm which should be great in the zz
  12. Thanks for the info, it's looking more like a zz to me now, I have been reading reviews all over the net as well about them. A quick one for you what size rope are you running on the zz?
  13. I'm based in Kent and looking for work, have been cutting chestnut and forestry work since getting my tickets. Slowly getting into the Arb side of things and building up kit and putting money aside for my 38/39 tickets. Happy dragging brash, felling trees and making fencing. Don't mind travelling and staying away for work if needed, either in b&bs or in my caravan. Email is [email protected]
  14. Would you guys say having that possibility for midline would make it a more viable choice? Or is it generally fine to feed the zz on from the end.
  15. Thanks for that, I figured it should take a while to wear a cam down in the LJ but from vids the zz seems a smoother ride
  16. The thing pushing me to a zz is you don't have to replace the clutch/cam but how lo do they last?
  17. I have tried a search but came up with nothing. Trying to decide on one as I can't afford both, I have used a zigzag briefly and was impressed but have an art positioner on my lanyard and really like the build of it. Anybody have some thoughts? The price is similar on both. I'm steering clear of the spiderjack after hearing mixed reviews on them.
  18. I grabbed a stihl advance jacket from jonesie yesterday and it seems a pretty good jacket, it sounds bad that I'm waiting for a little rain now to test it out.
  19. Some from a few weeks ago all ready to go.
  20. I think they have a hi vis version on there aswell
  21. I'm toying with the idea of trying the smocks from here http://www.guycotten.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=32&zenid=78eivbeikdgp1abmtktgga5446 Ok you will look like a fisherman but if it keeps you dry, also cheaper than a cut and climb
  22. As above saw and axe would do the job. I'd be happy to come along for a day if the price was right.
  23. There indeed t20 on the handle. Turns out the small wire that connects trigger to linkage has come out fully, put it all back together and it's good to go but seems a lot of slack in there and you can hear it rattling.
  24. Matt its a real nice saw. Only had the bar nut key with it and no scabbard either. Just back from shops and torx drivers Ain't cheap 😒 now to fix it
  25. Hey guys I grabbed a 193 tc yesterday and got to set it up this morning. Had it running for 2/3 mins to get it warm and still no signs of oil from the chain, I can't see an adjuster. Does it have one like my huskys do? Also stopped it then let it cool and restarted it ready to cut and the trigger does nothing, I'm guessing something's popped off in the handle but it's all held together with torx screws so need to go buy some of those now 😒 But it's got to be better than a 540 I nearly grabbed.
