  1. Got a couple of jobs in Coventry coming up. Does anyone know of any sites in this area? Thanks in advance. Timon
  2. Nice mog! Ours needed the corners on the cab welded up when we got it.
  3. Having a rare day off today 😀 Lie-in, played my drum kit, bit of ArbTalk, burrito's for lunch and off up to Manchester to visit friends later. Bliss 😎
  4. Same as a lot of you. Can't seem to keep my kit attached to my harness so I have a brand new kit in my harness bag at the foot of the tree at all times. I recently cut through the top of my thumb with a silky while on my CS40 pruning course in the top of a big oak. The instructor offered to send a first aid kit up to me but I opted to come down. I was down in a matter of seconds on a zig zag one handed. It was at that point that I realised that in the event of a more serious cut with a chainsaw, a quick descent would be my best option with a brand new kit waiting at the foot of the tree. Trying to untie a kit from the back of a harness with one hand while spraying claret everywhere doesn't seem like it would be that easy. Which is why I gave up re-tying battered first aid kits onto the back of my harness. 😱
  5. Poplar removal job in the middle of Birmingham yesterday.
  6. All the very best with your new venture and journey into Treework There are some really helpful and pleasant people on this site. Timon
  7. Sorry, quoted the wrong post. This is the Birmingham equivalent,Bob
  8. But who would mod the mods?
  9. Here's a similar one with a Birmingham flavour 😎
  10. Good post Sean. Peer mentoring at its finest!
  11. Isn't that the driveway leading to your weekend cottage, Bob? 🙂
  12. It's a shame it came out so dark, but I guess that's the random beauty of "drive by" shots 😎
  13. One from this week
  14. New belts fitted but one flipped inside out. And the banjo bolt on one of the 3pt link rams sheared off so no chipper. Tranny and timber wolf for chipping until it's sorted. Just been using it as a log truck while we wait for parts. Job was miles away as well. One of them days!
  15. At least you got a 2 day job done in a day! My 2 two day job turned into a 3 day job due to mog-trouble
  16. That really sucks, mate. Hope you can recover soon.
  17. It is not the LOLER examiners responsibility to dispose of or quarantine failed items. Only to examine them to determine whether they are safe to use or not. If I fail a rope I will ask if the owner/operator would like it shortened. Hopefully good communication and common sense prevails between examiners and clients.
  18. Sadly this true. It's a shame that there weren't more real incentives for people caught in the addiction/crime cycle to change. I do think that most Arb equipment thefts are committed by career type thieves rather than opportunist/desperate for a fix junkies. In those cases I agree with the majority on here that the deterrents should be more robust and take thieves out of the game for considerable time.
  19. Beg to differ there. I used to be a thieving scumbag junkie..... Not any more though. I changed and I know lots of others who have changed.
  20. I wouldn't necessarily fail a piece of kit just because I couldn't untie a knot that had been loaded beyond being able to be reasonably undo it.
  21. Agreed, the 150 is a great little saw, great for pruning and small reductions.
  22. Never had any trouble with my 540. Our old 201 was very boggy in the cut even with the free upgrade.
  23. I'm working in the West Midlands. Birmingham and Coventry mainly. Lived in Wales for many years though,
  24. Best climbing gloves I've ever owned (And I've tried all the expensive stuff as well)
  25. Great vid and good music to boot. Job looked like an interesting puzzle. Nice weather too. Forgotten what it's like to be warm and dry 😎
