    2k Paint

And wood finishers as well. Acrylic is the way forward.
  2. Beautiful day here too.! Bit of conny bashing
  3. Nice one Mark, my favourite tree vid. It's unavailable on you tube right now. I don't fancy boring into the base as I don't want to weaken it further.
  4. Thanks for the replies. Customer said cedar, I was unsure. I'm going to climb it (carefully) I'll have a bit of a dig around the base for any signs of wet rot/decay (thanks Gary) Not enough room to fell it in one. I'll strip it and top it (thanks Mick) Then fell the stick as soon as I can after chogging it. If it's really bad I'll look at guying it. (Thanks Jomoco)
  5. Can't see any fungus on it. The bark at the base feels quite spongy. It's started losing its bark now as well.
  6. Got a dead cedar to dismantle soon. It's been dead about 2 years. Single stem about 50 ft so not too big. I'm interested to hear of others opinions, tips and experiences of climbing and dismantling dead trees. Thanks in advance
  7. Good likeness but I only wear husky braces.
  8. The real reason I wear it this way is because I'm an old man. Everything is worn high on the waist when you get to my age. If I wore it low on the hips and rolled one trouser leg up I'd look like a real tree gangsta. Trouble is, at my age it wouldn't be very cool.
  9. I never got used to wearing mine like that Joe. I know it's how it is supposed sit but I could never get the hang of it, especially with the saw attached. Mine is cranked up real tight on the waist and the leg loops nice and loose. The saw pulls it down to my ankles otherwise. Am I breaking the law wearing it like this?
  10. That looked very quick and efficient. Great skills.
  11. It's only designed to be used on trees where the customer drinks cheap instant coffee.
  12. 😀😀😀😀😀
  13. As an older climber I tend to favour rigging when dismantling. It takes more thought, planning and time to set the systems up but I find that I'm not so knackered at the end of the day. I'm also noticing that our groundies are getting more of an interest in the work and kit as they become more involved in the technical side of the work. This has promoted better teamwork, and a marked improvement in levels of skill and understanding and care of kit throughout our team. The more I do it the more I am seeing the benefits. I'm not saying that I would rig stuff when there is absolutely no need but just wondered what everyone else thinks and how they approach this.
  14. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and mentor.
  15. Interesting thread. I've never considered having this approach to confirmed work. I couldn't see it working for us as domestic customers generally like to be given a date. Certainly we do have to shuffle stuff around from time to time. Currently booked up into June right now.
  16. We've got the auto tune version and it's great. We run it on motomix or aspen and it's starts and runs very well. We put a sugihara 28" bar on it and it pulls surprisingly well. 👍👍👍
  17. You're out of control Mark! It'll end in tears mate......
  18. Does he smash up hotel rooms?
  19. I wondered who would be first. 😀😀
  20. Nice work. You made it look easy.
  21. 😇😇😇😇😇
  22. One of my fave bands...
  23. We'll all be Amish by then 🙂
  24. Now you're talking my language Paul! Mad Max1 was an amazing ground breaking film (even featured Lizzie from Prisoner Cell Block H? 😃). Mad Max 2 was the ultimate motorised western. 3 was a bit too commercial for my liking. Went to see Fury Road at the pictures and really enjoyed it. Tom Hardy did a great job as usual.
  25. As you can see it was a big tree with very little sound wood keeping it upright.
