  1. Have you tried roll on?
  2. Definitely agree that a big walk behind would be better if you are just starting out. You would get a lot more machine for your money and they are a lot more versatile. Domestic ride on mowers (which is what your budget will get you) aren't adequate for daily commercial use. I realise this isn't what you want to hear, but I've been down this road with a few different machines. My best advice would be to get a solid used large walk behind commercial mower. Once you have the work coming in and you are set up you could look at getting a commercial ride on machine on finance if needed. Hope this helps and all the best with your new venture.
  3. We're on white as well and it's a good thing too! We got dipped by vosa and hmrc. As soon as they saw we were running on white we were on our way 🙂
  4. You're really not enjoying this are you Steve ?? Fair play to you for your perseverance.
  5. Milk ... Schmilk! Disgusting stuff drips out the underside of a cow (or any mammal depending on your preference/proclivity for that matter) and sticks to the back of your throat before sending your body's mucus production into overdrive. Best avoided.
  6. I was cleaning windows for a living in the 80s. 🙂.
  7. 346xp MS150t T540xp 560xp 576xp (Hoping to get a 395xp this year at some point).
  8. Really love ours... We take turns doing the climbs and running the ropes. There is nothing more satisfying than smoothly executed rigging operations. The 3001 is such a simple but effective solidly built unit. So much better than those flappy port a wraps.
  9. Wait til you fit one to your mog! Ours sounds like a chinook has landed in the street. 🙂
  10. Looks like you earned your coin that day Reg. Hard, cold, lonely work by the looks of it. Cedar lumber must have a high value to it, judging by the effort and resources it takes to extract it. Great video.

    Cheap chains???

Nice one Steve, That's good to know. I'm trying to cut back on expenditure this year as last year was hefty. I'll give them a whirl. Thanks
  12. Have a 540, 560, 576. They are all excellent. Still have a 346 which is a great saw. If I let someone else use the saw, particularly the 560, I really notice the difference in how it starts and runs. The auto tune saws seem to need consistency in how they are run to get the best out of them.
  13. Anyone ever used these?? Are they any good??? Thanks

You'll never learn..... Only go in with the missus
  15. Nite night all, got a tough one tomorrow. Transits off the road and the hydraulics are out of action on the mog = no chipper. Hope I can get a decent kip tonight.

Finally we've all arrived at the correct spelling 🤓.
  18. Got a couple of jobs in Coventry coming up. Does anyone know of any sites in this area? Thanks in advance. Timon
  19. Nice mog! Ours needed the corners on the cab welded up when we got it.
  20. Having a rare day off today 😀 Lie-in, played my drum kit, bit of ArbTalk, burrito's for lunch and off up to Manchester to visit friends later. Bliss 😎
  21. Same as a lot of you. Can't seem to keep my kit attached to my harness so I have a brand new kit in my harness bag at the foot of the tree at all times. I recently cut through the top of my thumb with a silky while on my CS40 pruning course in the top of a big oak. The instructor offered to send a first aid kit up to me but I opted to come down. I was down in a matter of seconds on a zig zag one handed. It was at that point that I realised that in the event of a more serious cut with a chainsaw, a quick descent would be my best option with a brand new kit waiting at the foot of the tree. Trying to untie a kit from the back of a harness with one hand while spraying claret everywhere doesn't seem like it would be that easy. Which is why I gave up re-tying battered first aid kits onto the back of my harness. 😱
  22. Poplar removal job in the middle of Birmingham yesterday.
