1. I was aware of the 5 years for textiles (especially harnesses) but not the 10 years for metal kit. Not trying to be contrary, but where did you get that from.??
2. Sunday afternoons are best for me. I'll drop you a line soon 🙂
3. I'll take you up on that soon Joe. We've got loads of mature oaks at our place. Really hectic busy at the moment, so it will be in a few weeks. (Not that we're ever "not busy" whatever that is...) Thanks 🙂
4. You guys aren't very good SRT ambassadors 😀
5. A climber, 2nd climber/groundie plus tipper and chipper, climbing kit, saws, rigging kit. Insurance. Fuel. Advertising etc.... For £332 a day? Not much change left out of that at the end of the day. There is also the fact that people can also see that a firm charging/paying VAT is a sign of an honest, busy firm. Any half decent salesperson can work that into the quoting discussion.
6. Well done. Very inspirational. 👍
7. Used something similar today to pull a back leaning stem over. Pull line tied to the top of the stem, then a pulley tied to the base of a nearby tree in the direction of fall. The pull line goes through the pulley and back up on itself to another pulley tied (by prussic and carabiner) halfway back towards the stem. Feed the end of the pull line through that pulley to give you 3 to 1 mechanical advantage. The prussic can be pushed further back up the line as the system shortens on itself. (If anyone can understand that I'll be amazed!) I'll try and put some pics up tomorrow.
8. Looks like you will have needed all your specialist heavy plant engineering skills for that job!
9. Nice work.
10. It will probably feature on the next Grand Theft Auto.
11. Thanks Steve. It had been hacked a few years ago so there was lots of reactive growth on it. As close to a silk purse as I could get 🙂
12. A beech thin from yesterday..
13. I accidentally ran over my iPhone with an otter box with the car. It crushed the case but the phone was unharmed. On the downside they can suffer from condensation when in your pocket climbing on a wet day.
14. I was going to take a stab at Marlow Aeris 11.0 mm Either way it wouldn't pass a Loler, not one of mine, anyway. 🙂

Codwood?? Beluga drown tuna woods today you'll bream shore of a brig surf-prize.
16. Should save you time on sweeping up after jobs. Similar to what we have had done with ours.
17. Poor choice of wording....... 🙂
18. New addition to the family. Our mechanic built the chip box using the sides from our recently deceased tranny. We'll be able to put bigger crews out with this and push the jobs through quicker.
19. Good post Kevin. I wonder how people would feel in this country if we had multiple foot bridges across the English Channel that weren't guarded and an upcoming politician suggested we close them? It isn't any different in essence to what Trump is proposing. I don't like everything about Trump but I do like his willingness to address the thorny issues that the PC liberal brigade have tried to kick into the political long grass.
20. Great vid. Interesting variety of rigging solutions.
21.

Hi Steve

My phone app won't let me back on. It won't let me change my username and doesn't seem to recognise my new details.

Any ideas?

Thanks

22. Same here, I'm glad that I learned on a prussic and blakes etc. Because it helped me learn about ropes and knots. I wouldn't go back to using it on a daily basis though, because I love my Zigzag too much.
23. What about one of these? JCB Toughphone Pro-Talk TP851
24. Thanks for the reply. I did use a dab of lock-tight as recommended by the local dealer, the result was that the plastic integrated slot assembly snapped. As I understand it this has been a common problem on these helmets. I simply asked whether the issue had been resolved or not. This would be the deciding factor in whether I bought another one in the future. I have to say that I really liked the hat, so (from my point of view) it's a shame that this issue wasn't resolved.
