  1. Probably more than you could justify, about £18 per 5 litres, never mind it keeps Eddies bonus up.
  2. I should imagine it comes as more than a bit of a shock, here try this and triple your fuel costs over night, there no chance the road tax will be taken off we all know that, so as much as you brush over the cost of this fuel it is a massive issue. Should we not be pushing to have pump fuel improved.
  3. Yes you can sometimes see bubbles, the purge is just pulling fuel from the metering chamber of the carb, as long as the bulb fills at least 3/4 it should be ok, why do you ask? does it run ok?
  4. There are very few parts now for the 2100CD, it was replaced by the 2101XP, and then by the 3120XP, i will check what old parts i might have, you can fit the 281/288XP chain brake onto this machine, it looks a little odd as it is shorter at the rear, but does work, be very carefull removeing the manual oiler, as it runs through the fuel tank and has an o ring at the bottom, if the o ring does not seat properly or is damaged, chain oil will start leaking into the fuel tank.
  5. Would just heating up the crankcase to expand it not have taken the bearing race out? just curious.
  6. Come on lets hear somthing good about the 576XP, great shame it is only available in the UK with auto tune.
  7. you may or may not know, but with the Husqvarna auto tune saws the ser no. is always on the unit and shows up when plugged into the tool, you can also get the dealer to put your own name into the unit via the tool.
  8. Lets just say i would convert it if it was mine, it is gen 1 and there is no further investment into this system. But as i say you need to make sure there is nothing wrong with the fuel system., converting it will not put right any issues that are not to do with the Auto tune unit.
  9. No you cannot reset the unit, there was a bullitin about checking it useing a 12 volt battary, unfortunalty this did not achieve anything, check the fuel filter in the tank first before taking parts off, if the unit is playing up it is a new carb and unit combination, you could always convert it back to a standard saw.
  10. Sorry mate the 576xp had first generation Auto tune, so you cannot plug into the computer or re set the software. Seems abit strange you have gone from a black plug ( running rich ) to a whit plug ( running lean ).
  11. Sorry mate, didnt know i had too, oh well proper whally.all done
  12. They should not be telling you to start the saw with the brake off, especially if the saw is on oart throttle, you may chose to do this, but a dealer should never suggest it.
  13. Spot on Stubby.
  14. Do not use the deco valve on a hot engine start, also pull choke out and in again to lock the part throttle.
  15. I also have a similar tool, it was originaly to fit steel clamping rings onto rubber air hoses. if you use pliers it is very easy to bend the clip arrangment, then you will never get it to lock.
  16. Cant believe you ran the same tank of fuel from the first seizure, the fuel mix may have been the route cause all along, do you have any idea what oil he mixed with the fuel?
  17. Yes it looks like somebady has fitted the wrong carb, so blanked the purge off, it should still run like this, all be it may be a little harder to start, i would get it running before you spend too much money on it, Spuds offer of the carb seems like a good thought.
  18. Yes Husqvarna 65/77 would also boil the fuel in the tank, then run like a drain.
  19. 555 is the semi pro version of the 560XP,different software, governed lower, dont knock it because you should have bought a 560
  20. 621 with fuel in the crakcase rather than having a seperate fuel tank suffers terible with todays fuel, it will actually boil in the tank after a short period, as much as it pains me to say this try Aspen, bugger that really hurt.
  21. Absoulutley correct, the PURGE bulb pulls the fuel from the carb, into the bulb and pushes it back to the tank, there is a second connection on the carb ( if it is the original one ) for the PURGE pipe, when you buy things from E Bay you have no idea what may have been messed with, looks like a new carb is needed, hope you didnt pay too much for it, going as it chould its not worth much more than £50
  22. I tend to agree the 365 would be a better option for your type of work and bar lenght.
  23. You are probably looking at the pro front ends from the 325/327LD there is a range of domestic attachments for the 128, as the dealer, or i will find the part no.s if you are struggling.
  24. I agree carb settings, but i would say H jet set too lean, they are set up for the best emissions which means they are leaned off too much.
  25. Hope you had a good look at those bearing cages before rebuilding, they are very prone to dropping a small section of the cage, if you rebuilt the engine with the old bearings and carriers they will name have shaped themselves to the cylinder and crankcase due to force exerted on them when tightening the cylinder down, it can be tricky to regain a seal now if the bearing does not go back exactly the same as it came out. Good luck, but would have changed them.
