  1. If the carb is flooding this thing will not start, you need a small pressure tester to pressure test the carb, this will tell you very quickly if the needle is leaking, and also if there is a blockage in the jets.
  2. No the 2054 was the last of the genuine Jonsered machines, the 2055 being the pro version, there are vertually no all Jonsered dealers left, they were all convereted to a Husqvarna account, i see no reason why any Husqvarna dealer cant order parts, if you send me an e mail address i can send you a spare parts list for it, you can then Google the part no.s for best price, one last thing, the 2054 was a really good saw.
  3. By fuel getting through do you mean the plug is soaked with fuel? if so is it just the carb flooding ( needle valve leaking )
  4. To run it on 3/8 you will need to find a 3/8 rim with a small spline, if you fit the correct big spline sprocket you will need to change the oil pump drive gear.
  5. Danarm 55 was the creation of Satan, the cylinder so so badly ported, it lost more fuel back through the inlet than it actually burnt, this in turn soaked the air filter making run so rich it just stopped, the whole machine was held together with self tappers ans old bits of tin, the starter was on the dirty side of the machine so constantly failed, the points ignition failed for a pass time, there was no chain brake, or av system on standard machine, the muffler was a re used bake bean tin, which made you ears bleed if you managed to get it to run long enought, the big end was held together with a wing and a prayer. If you wanted a good saw from that era Husqvarna A65 or A77, or if you can find one a F70 or E70
  6. This is more common on power cutters, ring wear allows the ring to pass the ring peg and as Spud says the ring catches in the port, game over.
  7. The early Walbro carb had a compensator, so the tube in the inlet and the gasket were only valid for that carb, the Zama carb does not have a compensator so the tube and gasket are now obsolete, the tooling was never changed so its not unusual to see the gasket and tune in the inlet.
  8. It certainly sounds like a fuel issue, if the fuel filter and hose has been replaced then i would think the dirt is in the carb, to clean it properly the core plug over the main jet needs to come out and the screen cleaned, just a late thought does this machine have the Walbro carb??
  9. Is this the early 61 with two piece ignition system, or the later machine with a single piece ignition system?
  10. The 232R has a male 10mm x 1.25 LH thread, you will probably need the lower flange as well.
  11. It is possible for the pipe to split where it fits to the connector, anyway as it has come off more than once you need to replace it.
  12. Only 24" from Husqvarna, or 28" if your feeling brave.
  13. Blocked spark arrester in the muffler out let, clogged air filter.
  14. Don't bother, mound some wood up in the garden, set fire to it, when the flames are nice and high throw the 55 on, then fan the flames until the whole sorry machine has gone, will save you plenty of heart ache in the future, the worst machine to come out of the Stroud factory.
  15. I think me and Gaden kit are the only ones who think this is not right, the question was is this right, and the staright answer is no, i have made thousands of chains up, if there is an odd drive link count you either loose a cutter or have two running the same side, if you have an even number there is no reason to have two cutters running the same side if the person making the chain does it properly, a bit of penny pinching here i think.
  16. Get yourself a flywheel holding tool, NOT ONE OF THESE HORRIBLE PISTON STOPS, i hate them, as for hitting the end of the crank with a mallet, be very very careful.
  17. Just to confirm, the new spouts will fit on the old can, the angle is a little different though.part no 586110401 oil spout 586110501, winter oil spout 586110701 if you feel it does not flow fast enough.
  18. The only reason for this is if you have an odd drive link count, however there should not be two sets going the same way
  19. A great improvment on the old green cap.
  20. Spout diameter on the new Husqvarna can 21mm, so if the opening is larger no problem

    Filter oil

Husqvarna air filter oil 1lt 531009248 rrp £25.83
  22. The av spring in the cylinder is the same for both 372 and 576.
  23. The springs are completely different, the 372 screws onto a threaded extebtion of the tank, the 576 has a self tapping screw into the tank.
  24. Just pull the carb off and make sure the throttle butterfly screw has not come loose, make sure it closes fully in the carb, whilst the carb is off check the rubber inlet tube and purge tube behind the carb mounting block have not split, it does happen on older machines
  25. Sorry Stubby, i have man flu, i didnt read your post fully, just another senior moment.
