  1. You are probably looking at the pro front ends from the 325/327LD there is a range of domestic attachments for the 128, as the dealer, or i will find the part no.s if you are struggling.
  2. I agree carb settings, but i would say H jet set too lean, they are set up for the best emissions which means they are leaned off too much.
  3. Hope you had a good look at those bearing cages before rebuilding, they are very prone to dropping a small section of the cage, if you rebuilt the engine with the old bearings and carriers they will name have shaped themselves to the cylinder and crankcase due to force exerted on them when tightening the cylinder down, it can be tricky to regain a seal now if the bearing does not go back exactly the same as it came out. Good luck, but would have changed them.
  4. When you jar the clutch off against compression you are not exerting a direct force on the internal components, when you insert somthing into the cylinder to lock the engine, and then use a socket or such to remove the clutch, you are now exerting a direct force onto the piston crown, connecting rod, cylinder head etc, which cannot ever be good practice.
  5. The three shoe clutch was far too heavy and not needed for the smaller saw, so the two shoe, clam shell spring clutch ( as per 346 ) was fitted
  6. Did some training for the local prison, the prison officers wanted to know if we did lockable filler caps for the saws and mowers, makes you wonder!!

  8. You do not need to lock the piston, the clutch is jarred off against compression with the correct tools, the flywheel is held with the correct tool to undo the flywheel nut.
  9. The very first production had the three shoe clutch, this did not stay around for too long, so i assumed he has the two shoe clutch.
  10. Buy the damn tool, use a 19mm socket on an impact wrench, it will fly off, left hand thread remember, if push comes to shove i will loan you the tool.
  11. One and half turns on each is a good starting point, you will need to fine tune from there, always start with the low jet first.
  12. Skyland, part no. 575251401 is for the three shoe clutch on the 560, Mark Bolam your contribution only fits the domestic clutch as fitted to the 36/136/41/141/137/236/240 as i said the tool is part no. 502541601, if i ever catch any body inserting anything into the cylinder to lock the piston i will insert somthing into them DONT DO IT.

    Saw repair

    Servicing the carb is not the be all and end all, you need to replace the filter in the tank, check fuel hose for leakage, replace plug, it maybe there is nothing wrong with the carb.
  14. Special tool part no. 502541601 this will fit into the clutch centre with a 19mm nut on the outside, you can then use a socket and impact wrench.
  15. Are you sure you measured the bore correctly, the early 346 was 44mm the later one was 44.3, i cannot remember a bore size any different, your not measuring the piston are up??

The thread size on the crank has never changed on the 281, there was a change from a single clutch spring to three smaller springs, i agree send the thing back, sounds like a cheap Chinese thing, it will probably fall to bits after a couple of uses, buy original parts where there is a possible safety issue
  17. The hand guard changed where it fits into the chain brake, it was made to fit deeper to avoid diss engagment, it now means you have to change the brake if you have the early one.
  18. A bit of intresting information, for every inch of additional cord you pull out you lose a 1000 rpm from the engine speed.
  19. Yeah it is pretty good, but i fear what this lad is trying to cut really needs a blade, or you have to try a mulch blade kit, absoulutly destroys anything in it its path. I also say a chain head, looked like a medevel thing, 4 bits of motor cycle chain fitted to it.
  20. I said whisper X cord, not standard whisper, the X is graphite coated, bless.
  21. 3120xp good solid saw, been around long enough to have any bugs ironed out, fixed main jet, so no messing with the carb, many parts prices keenly priced due to the fact that it is run as a power cutter, and rail cutting saw, alway.s run it on 25.1 on a mill

  23. 560 seems to be well sorted, 550 is not far behind, the hot starting seems to be the final issue, this will be sorted out soon i am sure, at the moment hot start, do not use deco valve, pull choke out and in to open throttle ( chain brake on ) dont be afraid to use the purge, and they fire up ok.

  25. There was an improvment to the later oil pump, the pump body gained small guides either side of the delivery and pick up, these sealed the hoses better
