  1. The caps will fit the old husqy combi, they are not at an ideal angle but is useable.
  2. Hell fire Eddy, you need to move on with the models, K760,K970,k1260, but you are quite right the shop manuals give compression readings.
  3. Husqvarna do a compression tester part no. 531031686
  4. These are chainsaws, not brush cutters.
  5. Yes i could do that.
  6. Another vote for the drum needle bearing as it only appears to be on idle,
  7. There is two Elite models, 410 and 450, both are re badged Husqvarna models, the 440 and 445
  8. Wish you had said eddy, i have a new 390 cylinder and piston, could do you a good deal
  9. Never drop start a 181/281 or it will bite you, the 288 had a deco valve, you should have fitted this cylinder, when you say its tight, is that because the main bearings are stressed due to the way they were pressed in.
  10. From memory the switch is on the r/h side rear of the fuel tank, the wire from the right hand heater pad runs to it, the a wire from the other side of the switch to earth under the earth screw on the ignition switch.
  11. The 254 and 262 chain catchers were composit material not alloy, there is a central hole for the screw and an indent either side to sit on the two up stands in the crankcase.
  12. The 262 had the same crankcase as the 254 so the chain catcher will fit, it was slightly different on the 262.
  13. Clarkson couldnt find his ass with hands let alone use a chainsaw safley.
  14. No the 3120 always had the big wing not clips.
  15. Husqvarna said no super unleaded, or such like.
  16. Surley its all about testing, its not only lubricating but keeping bearings and seals clean, the base oil may be similar, but the additive package is the key, protection against ring gumming, ash content etc.
  17. Oregon oil, so how many two stroke engines do Oregon make? how do they know what quaility of oil is needed for Husqvarna or Stihl machines? the manufacturers are best placed to say what oil is needed for there products.
  18. The choke pull is shorter, and no the clip does not come with the boot, perhaps Stihl have to supply assemblys because they are so unreliable??
  19. Dont forget the choke pull Eddy, and the boot clip.
  20. The bar bolts? why check those?
  21. The 268 was the hard wood version of the 266, both are now diss continued, it was a full pro saw so, 560XP is about as close as you will get, or 372XP if a bit bigger.
  22. Could be simply the drum bearing needs greasing, you can do this through the end of the crank, if greasing does not help, the bearing may have broken up, if not that, then a clutch spring has broken, i have also seen the centre spider break.
  23. The 380CD has the ignition, flywheel and starter missing, also no chain brake, so this is probably beyond economic repair, the 162 has a chunck of the crankcase broken off and some sort of repair, as has been said it depends on the condition of the internals as to wheather this is worth repairing.
  24. Anybody who thimks this is a 154 needs to read up on there Husqvarna history, i have worked on hundreds of these, in there day they were a great saw.
  25. The machines in the photos are a 162se and a 380cd
