  1. The splined tool never arrived today in the post so rather than try to make something fit I just stuck it into the local chainsaw man so he can have a look, no point in me guessing what the fault might be & ordering parts it might not need i'll let him tell me what it needs! Will find out tomorrow & let you know..::cheers for all the input so far.
  2. The first thing I did was put in anew plug yesterday mate. Stripped the carb this afternoon, no obvious gunk/sawdust in there, diaghpram looks good, gave everything a good clean & rebuilt, cleaned out fuel tank again just incase, checked all fuel lines etc, all seem good, checked spark arrestor & muffler, again all good....still struggling when hot, works perfect when cold-warmish, once you've done maybe 10-15 cuts it won't take throttle & just dies, does this with chain bar off as well (just wanted to eliminate the chain possibly overheating & seizing up) let it cool down & does the same all over again! It started idling higher than it used to, I'm beginning to think perhaps the carb needs adjusted as it sounds like it's getting starved of fuel once it heats up but until I get the right tool to set it I obviously can't! Hate it when manufacturers employ sneak tactics to make joe bloggs have to go to a service centre! There's plenty of compression & starts & idles fine when hot - doesn't show barrel/piston/rings symptoms to me, just won't take anything over 1/2 throttle or load. It might well be spark it's losing, how would I check the condenser?
  3. Even the mcculloch website is owned & copyrighted by Husqvarna ... Product registration | Support & Help | McCulloch Look at bottom of page if you still doubt me!?
  4. Yip, exactly the same saw, from the same factory just a different branding on the outside covers, every component from the chain tensioner, barrel, spark plug to the air filter etc etc are stamped Husqvarna, when I bought it a couple of years ago it was about £100 cheaper than the equivalent husky, the prices are the same now, only you get a longer bar & chain with the mcculloch... 5. My mcculloch cs410 (same as husky 435) has started cutting out when hot. It's been worked pretty hard all day Friday & Saturday & tonight it's stared buggering about! Almost feels/sounds like it's being starved of fuel/air it'll run fine from cold, cut a log & half then once hot will struggle to take throttle & stall as soon as the chain touches timber. I've cleaned the fuel filter(wasn't dirty), checked tank for debris, cleaned air filter, air passages, inlet housing & flywheel, checked oil ways clear & chain not seizing, short of stripping the carb, which I don't want to do unless totally necessary incase I damage a gasket, I don't know what to do next! Any help greatly appreciated!
  6. Thanks a lot for that, you've confirmed what my initial thoughts were, i had toyed with the idea of doing exactly what you suggest - bungying one of the rear valves open & controlling splitter from outside, just wasn't sure if I'd damage the pump doing that. Will do some tracing of which spool controls which valve tomorrow & plumb the splitter in. It's a late 90's (I think) zetor mt8-050 4wd compact a massive 23hp!! I know it won't be as powerful as the 7810 but will hopefully be more economical. Will let you know how I get on splitting tomorrow.
  7. Been browsing here for a while now & finally joined!! Can anyone help me with the hydraulics on a zetor compact tractor I inherited recently? It came with no manual so it's been a bit of trial & error so far, however want to use it to power my log splitter (homemade out of h beams, a double acting forklift ram & controls) as I think it'll be more efficient than the 7810. Anyway my question is, does anyone who the standard hydraulic layout for these tractors? There are three spool valves inside the tractor, one for the rear 3 point linkage(single acting up & down), one for valves at both the front & back (spares at the moment. But appear to be single acting up&down/in&out) and one which is connected to the front linkage at the moment, this one appears to have a continual setting as when you push the lever further down you can feel it almost lock into place, which I presume would be used for a front loader or similar, however I'm not brave enough to plug the splitter into it incase I cook the tractor pump or pop something on splitter! Does anyone know if this is a continual setting & if I can plumb the splitter into these valves? Would be ok if I could find a separate return to tank but I can't see one anywhere & don't fancy just opening tank cap & having return wedged into top. Even a link to a operators manual in English would be great as I can only find Czech ones online! Sorry for the novel & thanks for your help!!
