  1. Serious question Nick??
  2. Lets hope the MP can get that sorted, I am optimistic about the result.
  3. I clean my saw every week:) the break band snaps in the same place each time, husky know its a problem and are working on it apparently;)
  4. I have been doing some work in a customers garden and they have asked me to take some trees out of a wooded area of the garden? They are some mature larch and a sycamore. I'm pretty sure we would need a felling licence but the customer thinks not as he says its his garden?? It is in the boundary wall of the garden the whole property is maybe in 1.5 acre maybe 2. Can anyone shed some light??
  5. I have had no problems with any of my other huskys, I love em but I don't like their attitude. Now I've got both we will see how it goes.
  6. Maybe Stihl will have a better attitude towards their customers though?
  7. Nice one slasher;) I spoke to husquvarna direct and they said to take it up with the dealer, I told them that the dealer gave me their number and husky were not happy with the dealer. I told husky all about what has gone on and the said they knew about the problems and are trying to fix it but couldn't give a date. I really like the saw when its working properly but I have had enough, I told husk that I would not be buying any more kit of theirs and they weren't bothered. I don't understand why they replaced a great saw in the 346 with the 550, I can understand why they replaced the 357 with the 560 but they could at least have got it right. I have bought a Stihl ms 362 as with only a month left on the husky warranty I could not afford all the down time.
  8. Well that's it I'm getting rid of the piece of, the brake band just snapped again that's the 3rd in 10 months, then the starter cover internals broke again 3rd time in 10 months. Utter crap, I have been on to husky and they say they are working on it?? Why stop making a brilliant saw like the 346xp to be replaced with utter junk. It's so bad I'm contemplating going over to the dark side, Stihl:)
  9. Should be Gortex not Gotten:)
  10. Gotten only good if kept clean. I have had dozens of waterproof jackets for doing tree work in and the best I have found is paramo gear, if kept proofed its brilliant, they do a lightweight smock that u can get on the bay for around 100 quid.
  11. There the worst;)
  12. How much to Cumbria Nick?

    Space shuttle

Not top but TPO's I meant:)
  16. Just read about the shuttle the took through the streets of LA, the cut down 400 trees to get it through and are going to replant a 1000, imagine that in England, they would all have had tops on no doubt:)http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19935264
  17. At the end of the day your accounts will tell the story, are you in profit or not? Have you made a good living , and take it from there:)
  18. Agreed huck. In my case I had my chipper on finance to begin with so I had to meet the payment, if I was doing hedges or fences instead of trees I still had the same outgoings so where I could had to charge the same:)
  19. Lucky bugger!!
  20. That's ok but the large kit still needs to be paid for even when not in use doesn't it?
  21. The thing with all this costs thing is you either get work or you don't, you can have all the gear, climber, groundie, insurance, do all work to bs3998, aa approved, vat reg, you price they cut etc,etc and charge x or you can be owner climber/groundie, van, chipper, insurance, bs3998, small is nice company and charge y or be old van, knack erred chipper hand to mouth no insurance, no overheads do crap work and charge very little except to make ends meet. Each of these will have customers and each in their own eyes make a living, makes a profit and does ok. Find which you want to be and stick to it. Don't worry about others do what suits you.
  22. If you buy the full version you will be even less impressed:(
  23. Sounds a bit cheap to me.
  24. Great totem pole Dean:)
  25. Get some bumper stickers made Steve!! it could say LOG on to Arbtalk.co.uk or something along those lines.
