I had to go out before and drag a fella up the hill with my landy, at least I don't get stuck in snow, unlike the mud I was in the other day, got axel deep in mud and had to get a tractor to pull me out! 7. Just had a Bloke call up, I'm sat infront of my log burner watching tv and chilling, there is at least 2" of snow. The guy says "I would like to order some logs" I ask him when he would like them, "I could do with them this afternoon" I asked if he knew it was snowing, "yes but I need some logs as we have none and it's snowing" I wonder if he waits till he has had a poo before buying more loo roll. Lol:)

  24. I really agree on the weekly target thing, I run like this, I have low overheads so it makes it a bit easier in the quite times. This leads to the key of how to run YOUR buisness, know your overheads in your sleep, know exactly how much you need to make at all times, know you buisness like your women:) it has taken me 10 years to work out what works and what doesn't, I've had the 2 vans, valmet& botex etc and it didn't suit me, I now have a slim line operation and I'm happy. it's a really good thread this and people can learn from it.
  25. Tom, I understand where you are coming from, in an ideal world we would all like to charge more for the hard and often dangerous work we do, in reality though it doesn't work like that FOR ME, I have in the past tried to charge more and I lost more than I won, I now know how my buisness works the best and that's how I operate. I think the key to this thread is to find what works for you and do it as what may work well for you may not work well for the next guy. I price all my jobs by the job not the time and this is the best way to work IMO.
