    tipping cost

Bugger all mate, I often get paid to tip or it's free to people who want it. I never have Amy problem getting rid of the stuff:)
  5. I did some deer fencing last week, fricken hated it, give me trees anytime!!
  6. I don't use an hourly rate unless I'm felling for a guy I know and then it's by the hour. I have had people call up and ask our hourly rate to take a tree down though. One man asks me to look at 3 x 50ft connys, asks how much per hour would I charge to drop them, sned them and leave in 4ft lengths, they were leaning and next to a caravan, I said I will just give you a price, I told him 200 pounds, he asks how long it will take and I said that it will take what it takes as I'm just charging to drop the trees and leave how he wants, he is still asking for the bloody hourly rate, in the end I just say its the job I'm pricing not the time. In the end he agreed and said go ahead. I dropped em and had the job den and dusted in an hour and had 2 brews with him. Saw my point in the end, it's taken him a year to clear it up!!
  7. They would get it defo!!
  8. Seen it, it's ace, especially when the tree drops on the house:)
  9. Mmmm, on closer inspection I'm turning to sweet chestnut:)

I'm sure Tommer will be along soon to Per on your chips:)
  12. Hornbeam were popular for making shuttles for weaving.
  13. I agree with the red oak mate
  14. It's allways gonna be like this especially with everyone watching the penny's. A guy I rang last night asked me to do some chipping for him, he has got some trees to take down, he has got experience with a saw but no insurance etc, the people are happy for him to do the work as he is cheap!! That's what we're up against, se customers don't care how many tickets or insurance you have just get rid of the tree cheap! To be honest it's starting to jar me right off, I've worked hard to build my business and then you get morons comming along and doing work for cheap, it's ok saying they won't last or what happens if they have an accident but there are plenty more waiting to take their place.
  15. As Andy says the 560xp is a cracking saw and can accommodate various size bars. I have had 1 for a couple of months and love it:)
  16. Troll hunter, the worst film I have ever seen, utter toss, the best thing in it was the immaculate mk1 golf. After I watched it I ejected it from the DVD player and threw it in the wood burner!!
  17. That's the thing, anyone know who does it in the northwest?
  18. Cheers, I will try them.
  19. Cool vid. How long did it take?
  20. But what overheads does he have?? Very little I would think, van, tools insurance. The insurance will be nowhere near tree surgeons insurance. Then there is all the saws and chipper, waste carrying licence etc.
  21. Anyone know of a company doing tree spade work? I think that is its name, where they blow compressed air down a lance??
  22. I used to have one, they are ok. I prefer my rayco rg 13 mk II though, the cartons handle bars were not adjustable and I didn't think it was as well made as the rayco.
  23. Have you tried David Norman? He usually has plenty for sale.
  24. I love mine, but I really love my 346 xp still.
  25. Very, maybe, 70-80 quid with no experience if your lucky. Good luck!! You will need it mate as its a very, very cut throat industry.
