  1. I listen to death metal:)
  2. I have taken all the mechanisms off and the valve block, I have put on a new valve block that is not auto return and it is brilliant, it splits knotty stuff no problem, I can stop the ram a couple of mm above the log then put in another log and away it goes. Whoever had it before me had butchered the mechanism and messed with the prv, it now is just how i want it. Thanks for all your help everyone. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. They are becoming very common in the uk now and can give a nasty bite, I love spiders and would never harm one intentionally as they are great in the house for killing flys and bugs. I want a tarantula but my mrs won't let me have one.
  4. An arsehole:)
  5. From what you have told us it does sound poor service from the dealer, a good dealer would replace them or offer at least a credit note. I reckon that Justin or clarke's would sort it out. Hope u get it sorted.
  6. Very true Dave, I heard of a large firm round my way who have a god reputation, bat reg etc who quoted £500 to remove a tree, they never got the job, a local 1 man and pick up, no chipper etc quoted £2000!! And they gave him the job!!
  7. Mine have been awesome, they are nearly 2 years old and don't leak, soles are well worn but I love em. I have a new pair sat in the box ready for when these die. I have a contact at the uk distributor for meindl so I get red laces when I need em!!
  8. Dunno where that number came from??
  9. Allways take a deposit, no ifs or buys mate. I'm sure you will sell it. The vat 07973 890423is the killer though.
  10. I'm glad someone has sense!! Nice one pedro, I'm sick of hearing people cutting grass for £8 an hour, it's a joke. I only look after 3 lawns now and I charge £35 per cut and edge, they take 45 mins each. The customers are happy enough.
  11. could i just put a log splitter valve block on instead of the one thats on it? ive seen them on e bay and they look more straight forward than mine. i would take off the all the stuff on mine and replace with the up down stop model, this way it would stop the ram where i want.
  12. Get some of your other work on lev, these guys will like it mate.
  13. Is the person supervising you trained in tree climbing? If not then just get along to a college and learn properly, otherwise you could get hurt. There are a few books out there that would be worth reading before you get started which would tell you the equipment needed. The tree climbers companion is a good book.
  14. Then you should know that working hard pays off, asking for help all the time does not:)
  15. Or the tartan paint!! Or a tin of elbow grease:) its all part of being a greenhorn! But nowadays kids go and do a weeks course and they are an expert.
  16. Typical, the cant be arsed generation. Go and look up atc1983's post of how he wanted to take a 70ft tree down on ladders mate, with no experience, didnt even know what a mewp is, or how he wanted to start putting guttering up but didn't know what a fascia board is?? It just winds some of us up who have spent years learning a trade. The best way to learn is to have a go not to ask how to do it all the time.
  17. Not taking the wee, just having a crack as lots of folk do on AT, it's all in good taste. Alot of us older members didn't have a forum to learn by so we learnt the hard way and sometimes some of the newbies should learn the hard way because if there was nobody to ask what would they do?
  18. I know mate cracks me up too, I wonder if anyone can give m next weeks winning lottery numbersLOL!!
  19. Arbtalk should set up an apprentice scheme and ATC could be the first as he seems to be on here every week wanting to know how to do something or other. LOL!! No offence was intended in my reply to the post.
  20. Bit of a waste of time emptying them out of bags that are ready to sell to put in a shed, you are handling too much. Why not buy more bags or put fresh wood into the shed, so long as it is well ventilated the would should be fine.

    Fuel Mix

I buy 30 or 60 litre's at a time. Postage is 20 quid. Just get it direct off Anglo American oil company and it's cheaper.
  22. Looks a grand bit of kit that, good price too:)
  23. Have you tried stretch air? I'm a 40 waist and the xl stretch air fit me. Keep us posted how well the Stihl pants stand up to the rigours of tree work mate:)
