  1. How do you know that? I know that for a team of 2 me and a few other tree firms around me are alot more than that
  2. I have hooks screwed in my garage wall mate.
  3. That's the frustrating thing Dave, 2 of them didn't come back to me about the price, I would have matched it no problem, I only found out about it when I went to quote for more work. The other job the guy rang and said I was dearer and could I match the lowest price of 250, I had on this occasion quoted 400 as it was a day for 2 of us and chipper., I said no.
  4. I have regular customers who have gone and used other firms as they are cheaper, they get me to quote and make out all nice but then get other quotes and get people to do it to save 5 or ten pound?
  5. I know they are different trees and therefore need different things, that's obvious, I just wanted to know when to Prune them. Thanks for your reply

  14. That's a sneaky way of doing things mate, the customer is as bad for telling them but in these tough times then they will try anything. I have lost a job over a fiver before!!
  15. There's good and there's gold good though.
  16. Great for GB, for once were good at something!!
  17. Is undercutting the correct term? To me under cutting is when the competitor knows how much you put on the job (asking the customer) and then putting a lower price in thus undercutting you if you mean someone is doing it cheaper then that is fair enough surely?? I have lost jobs to people who can do that job cheaper than me and I have also got jobs over people in the past for being cheaper. That's just business. I think when we are quite then it's doom and gloom but when we are busy then hey,ho.
  18. Some people, I wonder if someone bought it?
  19. Good luck, hardwood round here is like hens teeth mate.

  22. That's no good as I have a dodgy knee, a tread mill won't do it any good. Swimming is all I can do.
  23. Yeah, but do they want to do hedge cutting? Primadonna climbers won't want to do it LOL.
  24. I will watch that, I want to loose weight but I like my food, exercise apart from working is hard as I have a bad knee so jogging and fell walking are now not possible. It's doing my head in to be honest and the way I deal with it is to drink and eat. Any tips would be appreciated.
