  2. That would be a shame, the fungi app is really useful when out on site. Hopefully they will get updated soon
  3. These haven’t been working since the Mac iOS11 update, is there going to be a update @Steve Bullman There is probably something simple that I’ve not done but I’m a bit of a Luddite with this tech stuff ? at the moment this is all we can get?
  4. My Grandfather used to talk about a fuel/oil pipeline running from bentwaters air base when it existed to somewhere (I can’t recall wear as was prob 25-30 year ago) but Clare is a fair way from Bentwaters! (My family are from your neck of the woods)
  5. Just take a new blade out of its packet and give your self a light tap across a finger or 2 with it before fitting it, once they have had blood there happy if you fail to do this you might as well book a spot in for stitches before you start. we have all done it just take care, they cut flesh as quick as a chain and rope quicker. They are like animals you should always watch out for the quite ones
  6. As Steve said a good Image brings work in From the right customer ?
  7. Have a look at these https://www.theratchetshop.com/winches-pulleys.html
  8. It’s remotely retrievable like a cambium saver, ball is same as role guide so can pull it out and to you from other side of tree or the floor. I find it handy if you want to work a distance from the rigging point and drop zone (multiple gardens etc) and don’t need to return to retrieve it
  9. Marvellous bits of kit for lots of small stuff when you moving around the tree, we use one a lot for reductions over multiple targets etc. There quick to set and move with you to the next location in the tree. As a bonus they add a small amount of friction so hand holding is easier from the groundies point of view. We have got the honey bros one but much the same thing
  10. You can bung up almost any chipper, normally when your in a hurry to go home ?
  11. These are good machines, the top two both are mig and MMA. Both of these processes it does well. They will run a spool gun for Ali and a scratch start tig for steel but I can’t comment on these as not tried. The customer service from rtec is second to none ? https://www.r-techwelding.co.uk/welding-equipment/mig-welder/ if if you want one piece of kit to cover most things thrown at it they are spot on and good to use
  12. Have any of you tried tracked mini skid steers like this: http://four-ashes.com/product/loader/ it ticks the box for access at only 750 wide but the lift height is a compromise But at the price it’s worth taking a closer look
  13. Also remember many chippers are worn out after 3 years if not used with care and mechanical sympathy. If it’s someone else’s people wont be so keen to wipe the mud of the end of that branch that planted its self etc. You need to price breakdowns and replacement machines into your maths. Evan if a machine is under warranty down time still costs time which = money. Any tree team with out a chipper you may need to think about there professional status and possibly there ability to pay. This won’t be the case all the time however most serious tree teams have a chipper which I would think makes it a limited market. There may be a bigger market for a tracked machine that many don’t own but need on a occasional basis but that comes with increased overheads.
  14. Just pull 1 phase, the neutral and earth from the 3 phase and away you go. It may not be the proper way but will Work just fine, seen single phase pulled like that then run through a trip box to make it safer
  15. Ddm ones are worth the money, I’ve had mine 2 year and still as good as new, I used to go through at least 3 caritools a year. As a bonus there not huge and don’t get in the way like the large caritools
  16. From my experience A shogun at that money will be better on fuel, better reliability, and a good work horse when needed but still expensive rfl that said the pathfinder are nice trucks “when” working right
  17. A butterfly but silightly different from video, I go from one end and in my hand not round my neck, just in case the rope found that “dog egg” that the customer missed last thing I want is that on my collar following me round all day
  18. Portawrap for the odd branch and holding tension on a speed line, Stein 3001 for lots of smaller stuff or big stuff or if needed the GRCS. Between the 3 they cover everything we ever come across.
  19. We burnt a patch about 15' square out of a potato store welding a elevator up that was loading the store, we got very lucky. It was back before camera phones so no pics I'm afraid.
  20. Sprayed foam and grinding sparks / weld splatter don't mix very well either dont ask just just trust me on this one
  21. Unfortunately we are on the Isle of Wight so it's a not a time issue but a costly affair to go and try Boots on and typically I didn't need any when we were at the arb show.
  22. Good morning, Am sure this topic has been covered many times before but very little coming up when I search, can you recommend which chainsaw boots are a wide fit please. The website descriptions don't really answer this and unfortunately we have no nearby suppliers to try them on so don't want to spend lots of money returning items. I have had the Arbortec Scafell Boots for the last 18months but after being worn every working day they are now showing signs of wear and was thinking about something different this time. I have just tried the Stein Defenders but they are too narrow. Thanks in advance for your recommendations. Mrs Will C
  23. Put what you like on a trailer as long as your within your weight/size limits and the load is secured properly
  24. Is this not the point of spikes? Youth of today need a old bt pole belt and some 3 strand for a week or until they learn not every gadget is needed Some "gadgets" are a god send some are just trying to remover your hard earned from your pocket I personally think spike ascenders are in the latter group:thumbdown:
  25. The Sugihara bars I've got have outlasted stihl ones by double so far and still going strong I won't be buying anything else in the future. As a further plus the customer service and advice Rob offers is second to none:thumbup1:
