Is there anyway to minimize rate of sprocket wear? 0.5mm isn't much think all my sprockets are more than that. Stihl sell a special tool to measure: Asume pointy bits are 0.5mm?

I have a alu fencing maul would that not be alot kinder than a steel sledge on wegdes? Its alot better @ not destroying the tops of fence posts than a steel one. Or you can get expensive fancy plastic ones

Yes c32 large tree says learn how to uses wedges & a winch for hung up tree Just asking for which wedges people would recommend to get as don't have any apart from smallest oregon On cs31 I only used a felling lvr I think, never really used wedges etc.

Is it worth getting some new wedges as only have the small plastic oregon ones. Looking at the K H plastic ones come in a set . Or two high lift for about £50 plus spare wooden bits etc

3 acres for 50k don't think you will make anything from harvesting etc 10yrs ago probably could of bought 20 arces for same price though so maybe land price will increase even more?

Anyone use them? Alot of clearance by consevation volunteers locally of rhody but stumps just reprout is not sprayed. Thinking they should get on of theese as alot of rhody fairly small shallow rooted I think if would work well on alot of it. This one looks the best designed.

If for amenity why not just leave majority of the birch too regen. Maybe just clear some paths to walk along round site. If volunteers want oaks etc they can create mini clearings along side of the paths for oaks etc. Oaks are fast growing would soon hold there own against birch after a few yrs of locally clearing round each tree...... -
